My friend got her clitoris pierced today. It is a vertical hood piercing. I really like the way it looks, and I am considering getting some piercings anyway. She told me that research she found indicated that a piercing like this can help you experience orgasm from plain, old, vaginal sex, something I have always had trouble doing. True or false? If true, I am tempted.

I don't have one so I don't know. My fear would be that it would heighten the experience for awhile but after maybe a few months or few years it would desensitize the area because you'd be so used to it being there. I've always wondered about that though.

A VCH is not the same as an actual clitoral piercing--it's just the hood. I had one, briefly. The thing made me nuts. It VVVVVVVDDDDDDDed against my vibrator, it twisted annoyingly, and was in no way an enhancement. Friends who have them swear by them. It looked soooo pretty. One day it twisted around I swear on its own, and I got up, went into the bathroom and took it out! There are several kinds of genital piercings, if you are interested, try one. Piercings are whimsical, you can remove them with no ill effect, and genital piercings heal quickly. I recommend googling Elayne Angel, who just did a book, "The Piercing Bible". She did several of my piercings and IMO is the best. She describes all the possible piercings in great detail. Some are limited by anatomy--I am not built for any of the clit piercings like the triangle. :(

well, a clit piercing (yeoooow!) is different from a clit hood piercing. Make sure you ask for the right one! [:D] I have a vertical clit hood piercing and for me, no, it doesnt help me orgasm but then i dont like direct stimulation anyway. If a guy plays to rough with it then since its metal, it can hurt me... but then i find most guys are too rough with oral on me too.. so.. I have read that many women do find the piercing stimulating and cum faster... so a little disappointing for me but i have kept it so far.. That was my first piercing (besides my ears lol), my second one was a tongue piercing. I am not planning on having any more done. Really, ya pays yer money and take your chances on if you find it stimulating or not or if you even like it. But, you can always take it out if you dont like it. I fainted when i got mine done, not because it hurt all that much but because of the mental image of needle thru skin in my head right after he did it. I had to get it repierced too cuz my bar fell out and i couldnt find the ball end, by the time i got one to replace it my hole had grown together again. I personally find it only hurts when the needle first pierces the skin cuz thats where the nerve endings are, once the needle gets past that, it just felt weird.. for me anyway.

I just got one myself this past week. It can help you with orgasm and it does tend to increase desire...you're basically getting light stimulation throughout the day, but not enough to be a disruption. As for the sex part...dunno, I'm deathly afraid of getting it infected or ripped before it's healed. Judging from the extra sensitivity alone though I'd say it's likely.

Sorry, yes, I meant a clitoral hood piercing. I am new to this, LOL. Well, my friend can't have sex for about 4 weeks. After that, knowing her, it will probably take her a while to find someone to have sex with. Once she does, I am sure she will report on the experience, and I can decide then. I have a little trouble getting past the mental image of someone sticking a needle in my clit, though. Shudder. OK, clit hood. Still shudder. It would have to be really, really worth it.

do you have your ears pierced? Cuz the ear lobes are just a flap of skin and thicker than the clit hood is. After the first one, the piercings got easier for me to handle, I never fainted again and its over very quick (even if you dont think so at the time).. But then i have been to the dentist enough that I dont have any problem going, that is not a big deal to me so.. there is a little pain at the dentist but I just know its easier to get in there, get it done, the sooner its done the sooner you are out.. Now the pain of the dentist bill is another thing entirely! [:D] One piercing I am happy i didnt get was nipples. I think the can look cool but i am not willing to that that kinda pain and for as long as it takes to get them done. I will just buy non-piercing body jewelry for my nipples.. eta- i do like the way my clit hood piercing looks tho, even if it doesnt stimulate me the way i had hoped. I found the ball end hard to put on cuz its so small and hard to handle. One piercer told me its easier if you use those surgical gloves you can buy at drug stores, the rubber makes it easier to grip. I dont remove mine, i am too afraid i wont be able to get it back on. Maybe when I have a boyfriend he can help me with it. [:)]

The actual piercing is not a big deal, putting the jewelry in hurts worse. Piercers are trained to work quickly. If you do endorphins, there's that. I got pierced with a friend, and she was all cheerful. (Nothing for me. Of course...)

I, at one time, had both vertical and horizontal hood piercings. The piercings themselves werent so bad.. the healing process was worse. That was followed by pinching/twisting when I wore anything that was snug. I found that, for me, my already low sensitivity was lessened by the jewelry.. but it did LOOK hot!! The pinching/twisting was an added downside.

She has a cute bar, and it looks great. Did you find it got caught in your clothes and things, though? I would only consider it if it was going to increase sensitivity, not lessen it.

yep.. wear anything somewhat snug (panties/jeans/slacks whatever.. ) and horizontal seemed to catch every time I sat down (or stood up). The vertical wasn't QUITE as bad.. it sucked when sitting though. Again, my sensitivity was low to begin with as far as pleasant stim went.. for me, I found that the jewelry lessened it (maybe because I began to associate the jewelry with bad ouchies? I dunno..)

I found the healing process went very well, it didnt bother me that much at all and it healed fast. I never noticed very much twisting either. Maybe it varies person to person due to the size of the outer protective lips? I also am totally shaven so no hair to get caught on. I dont think i would like a horizontal one tho... eta- i just wear cotton bikini panties and never found my piercing got caught on them.

Lucy.. I'd go with a vertical ring.. as small a diameter as you can get.

I wont speak to the sensitvity aspect, but small diameter and hood HOPEFULLY will help avoid teh twisty/ouchy/pinchy thing....

honestly? I had sex the same day as the piercing.. it was no better/worse than without. Actually it was a bit worse because the residual ouchy was worse than it should have been, given the 'tool' he had to work wth.. sigh (edited to add a missing letter)
