First time seeing what this rollcall thing is all about. Aw, new puppies and guinea pigs and talk of Halloween and winter holidays and sad things. My Halloween sucked because I was in the intensive care unit for six days, then in a regular hospital room for another two nights. My Bo watched my son and held down the fort in my absence...and my son took advantage by eating all the "leftover" Halloween candy (because of freezing rain, only half a dozen kids came instead of the expected 30 something) to the tune of fifty something full sized candy bars. No, he didn't get sick. My guardian angel is working overtime again because I am coming through this just fine. No strokes from the dozens of small clots in my lungs, they cannot find any heart damage so far even though some fancy blood tests (enzymes or something) said a clot probably gave me a small heart attack. I am disgustingly healthy and only have to deal with getting tired easily and becoming out of breath with any physical activity. On my second day home from the hospital I was already knitting a hat and by the third or fourth day went to a potluck MAsT meeting. Everyone else is fine and healthy, and these coming holidays are going to be special and different because my sub/slave is also my boyfriend. Mixing vanilla and D/s is becoming easier and hasn't triggered any panic attacks these past two weeks, which makes a big difference from the one or two per day we started with. Facial hair on a man has always been a trigger so I never dated men who were not clean shaven until now, and I am using this to write over bad memories from the past with good ones. His ring arrived in the mail yesterday. Both of us loved it...he had searched far and wide over the internet and I kept saying no until we found this one. It says "Cynthia's slave" and will pass in vanilla. Because of my illness, we ran through gas money too fast and after I go home on Monday, he cannot come home with me but must stay here for days to help his mother and catch up on things, and can be with me on Wednesday. After he goes home from my house three days later, he cannot come until his next payday about a week later. We have gotten used to not skipping days, so any day apart will be rough. The ring will help a little bit...and I love seeing it there. And fiddling with it by spinning it slowly around with my finger. Gawd I am such a sap. Christmas will be low key because I am broke. This will be a knitting and sewing Christmas. Family time together, good food, and watching scores of Christmas shows on DVD will carry the day. Oh, I have to have Bo hose down my ole synthetic tree, as it has gotten dusty over the years. Some of my cats have never seen a Christmas tree and I am expecting them to bat the decorations off and do "floor hockey" with them, climb up in the branches till they bend out of shape and the garlands of tinseland strands of lights slide off and droop down to the floor. My sub has been helping me clear junk out of my house and out of the basement, will soon be getting rid of 3 ft. high book cases and making floor to ceiling ones instead (I have a massive library of books and of DVDs that took over most available space downstairs), so I will be having lots of room to decorate. He will also unearth (looking through scores of packed away plastic tubs) for my tubs of Christmas decorations. I cannot wait! Christmas has been pretty dull these past nine years after the floods, as many things stayed packed away and I did not have enough energy to do Christmas decorating the way I used to. During the floods and the moves afterward, I lost 12 of my bookshelves and never replaced them, choosing to fill up stacked crates. I am so tired of looking at those crates that I could SCREAM. They are also excellent dust catchers and are difficult to keep clean, it will be such a relief to haul them to the basement and experiment with making a cat play tree out of them, with lovely nooks turned into fluffy sleeping places with curtain type canopies attached to give them a sense of having a hidey hole. I will probably be able to salvage at least 20, as I see some have broken over the years from having too many stacked on top of each other, full of heavy books, and because they were different brands sized differently from each other. I am also looking forward to landscaping part of my yard next year, laying down pathways of cement and managing to prevent weeds from growing, mwahahahaha. <grins> I have planted over 50 dwarf and semi-dwarf fruit trees in my back yard but have let it grow into a jungle. Next spring, with all the flowers, will be beautiful.
