Since I am not really interested in men at this point in my life this may be a moot point but I do know what I used to be interested in and maybe someday again, who knows.........never say never right.

#1 intelligence with a great sense of humour being equally important, ability to laugh at himself
#2 good personal hygiene!  Heres my weird one.....without the heavy cologne, the smell of soap and deoderant are perfect
#3 Non-smoker
#4 No drugs and a light social drinker
#5 responsible with his money,
#6 no couch potatoes, I like to live an active life
#7 a gentleman and a gentle man
#8 a VERY tight rein on negative emotions, I have had enough of fists thru walls, yelling and screaming, and guns being waved in   my face for several lifetimes
#9 A man that has strong self control, says what he means, means and does what he says
#10 someone that will not let me run all over him but will give me ALOT of room to be me, I don't need anyone running my life for me or telling me they know what is best for me. I hate being talked down to.
#11 Someone that can talk to my face instead of my breasts at least 50% of the time
#12 understands my family is very important and that I will never tollerate anyone hurting them
#13 Lack of ism's is always hugely important.......

Just a few that always mattered to me and many are the same for either sex

Hair to the extreme, either bald or long.
Husky, a bit of extra weight just does something for me.
Intelligent, no brains is boring.

I have the same problem ... women my age can't or won't get their butts out do do anything.  I've found an easy way to drive off ones who are not of the physique that I am interested in ... I just tell 'em I'm looking for someone for a 5 mile hike, camping & skiing ... & (if they could) they'd run screaming into the distance.

Again ... any person who doesn't have control of him/herself, is not qualified to be Dom/me over anyone else.  And if someone has no integrity ... why would anyone want them in their lives?

Status: offline 		ADomDoc, I smiled or chuckled at most of your comments.  However, if you weren't being facetious throughout your post, I would challenge your equation of "fit" with "outdoorsy".  A number of female gym rats (unsurprisingly, including me) can leg press more than most men.  This doesn't stop us from liking our rugs, roofs, and running water.  Besides, who ever heard of a campfire-powered treadmill.  :)

* Broad across the shoulders and back... with no top on so i can perve on the muscles
* good hygiene and wearing a nice, subtle, masculine scent
* clean shaven (but not always...)
* doesn't smoke (huge turn off)... or do drugs or too much drinking
* responsible
* The way He treats me... (initially, to gain my attention and respect... not meaning D/s dynamic here)
   eg.  He treats me as a person with a brain and enjoys the exchange of wit and conversation... easy to talk to
* oozes natural Dominance, without even trying...mmmm... i'm putty in His hands...

4.  a mind that can talk to me
5.  Mmmm a nice walk...strut...with an arse...a nice firm arse.
6.  a bad boy look that can still transform into a look of class in a suit and tie from time to time.
7.  some muscular definition but doesn't have to be a gym junkie.
8.  eyes that twinkle when he smiles and can turn cold as stone when he is displeased.

Status: offline 		I must be in the minority here, since I'm not terribly into extremely manly men.  Rugged, outdoorsy type...nah, just doesn't do it for me, for the most part...at least in terms of a superfical look.  I prefer a guy who's not much more masculine than I am, teehee.  But at the same time, he does need that level of command to keep me in my place, even while I'm kicking at his shins.

As for the really important stuff...others have said it, and I'll just reiterate it...the mind is a big source of attraction.  As is the soul.  Sometimes it's just about a feeling...that starts the initial interest, and if other factors are present (intelligence, (com)passion, a slightly skewed sense of humor, and the all important ability to not only care about what I have to say and how I feel but to also be able to put up with me) then the attraction just blooms.

Height doesn't really matter to me...a foot taller than me, or just a few inches, doesn't matter.  And while I may prefer a non-bulky look, it doesn't mean much if you can't hug him properly.

Well, if you trace it back, it is the lungs that provide the airflow to generate the volume of your speach. So your chest lets us see the size of the airflow that goes with the sounds your face makes. It makes perfect sense to spend time looking at a region in proportion to the muscle mass involved.... right?
