anyone?

Status: offline 		Try some Ice.......lay a few pieces of Ice (depending on how much of an area You have to cover) on top of the wax.....let it sit for a few moments...remove....take a cloth and rub over the wax......vaccum up the pieces....repeat if necessary.

This HAS worked for me before.....it takes some time to get it out, i t does depend on how much wax You have...may require alot of elbow grease.

Status: offline 		You can also try placing a paper bag or paper towel over it and ironing it, this may melt the wax and draw it into the paper. You can also just hold the iron close to the paper and melt the wax through it.
Just do not try this on nylon carpet (or other fibers that may melt) and be careful on delicate fabrics as not to burn them.
I have found this method works well if you are careful.

Status: offline 		what i have done in the past is wet a small clean rag or towel and heat the iron and hold it on the wet cloth until the wax is removed and it worked on heavy carpet in my bedroom and works great on everything but floggers!

I have tried the ice method in the past- I think this will call for a combination...

It was just runaway candles- I wasn't aiming at anyone<g>. Three different spots in the apartment! I have about 28 candles about the place, and lastnight I was so cold and damp when I got home I lit them all (they actually warm the place up pretty quickly). I had a few pillars run away pretty spectacularlly- Big puddles on the rug.

I'll post back on how it all worked...

Status: offline 		Freeze it, and then it lifts up easier.

Get a polythene, or other waterproof bag, fill with ice, and leave on top for a while, come back and wax just lifts out.

Can be used for chewing gum as well.

Thanks for all the great advice- I tried the ice cube thing, but the wax was into the pile, and didn't come up well- I even tried using a 'freeze spray' used in electronic repair, which lowers temps to -62. Still didn't do it.

I want to try to thin the way before trying Roe's hot iron method, so I heated it with a blow dryer, and scraped with a spoon. This worked very well, working a bit at a time, vacuuming between passes. I ended up with just a scmear on the carpet, and switched to the iron/rag technique- Sucess!

When i was painting my daughter's room years ago i kicked over a can of gray paint on a yellow rug LOL. Now that was a mess. It's still there covered with a small area rug.

Generally my first attempt at removing that type of mess is standing over it for a while and cussing. The success rate for this method is low but I seem to go back to it every time.

I will file this ice and hot iron info for future refernece.
