Greetings, all- Thanks for all the great advice- I tried the ice cube thing, but the wax was into the pile, and didn't come up well- I even tried using a 'freeze spray' used in electronic repair, which lowers temps to -62. Still didn't do it. I want to try to thin the way before trying Roe's hot iron method, so I heated it with a blow dryer, and scraped with a spoon. This worked very well, working a bit at a time, vacuuming between passes. I ended up with just a scmear on the carpet, and switched to the iron/rag technique- Sucess! thanks again for all the advice stay warm, Lawrence
