Over here they are terrorists. Over there they are feedom fighters. Over here we are freedom fighters, but over there we are, indeed terrorists. We came there first. In the west now some people are starting this Christian bullshit that it doesn't matter who threw the first punch. That is fucking bullshit and we all know it.

Status: offline 		how long did it take us to get involved in the conflict in the Sudan? =p there was a heck of a lot of local-terrorizing going on, but, for all our "police the world, West makes right" super hero mentality, we just weren't concerned until the rockstars and celebrities got involved, and little kids started collecting money for it. =p

we overthrow elected leaders and replace them with despots because those despots say they'll stick to OUR gameplan. then we manipulate the truth and present the whole thing as a fight for freedom -- but whose? we want resources and we'll do whatever it takes to get them.

Nice of you to stand up for the usual far left mantra, the men on your side didnt have the nerve...

The problem with your assertion is that Shell and their alleged cronies in the Nigerian government arent who or what Boko Haram is hitting, Lilly. You desperately want Boko Haram to fit in with the far left talking points but they do not. They are murdering local Muslim officials, bombing small churches, and they tell anyone who will listen that its Western education that they fight against, and they demand to force everyone in Nigeria to obey Sharia law.

Its all about spreading strict fundamentalist Islam with the sword.

I'm by no means excusing their behavior, but they view it like a hydra -- all the heads lead back to the same animal, i.e. Western education, which they believe teaches Western ideals and Western corruption. That corruption and Western-leaning thinking is what they believe allows other elements of corruption to happen. They think Sharia law is the only way to save themselves, and any Muslim who doesn't side with them is just another head of the hydra they want to kill. So of course they kill Muslims who they see as "siding" with the Western corruptive force -- those people are the worst kinds of traitors in their opinion.  --- Don't we put emphasis on people like Richard Reid -- an American-born Taliban soldier? We see him as the absolute worst because he was once one of us, and he sold us out.

It's a different worldview, Sanity -- you have repeatedly shown an inability to see the world through anyone's eyes but your own. Note, seeing the world the way Colonel MilitantNutjob sees it DOESN'T automatically mean you condone his actions, it just means that you understand where he's coming from.

So essentially they kill anything that moves or breathes that isnt exactly like them which they cannot subjugate. Its not just anything Western that they hate, they also detest Buddhism, Hinduism, I would assume the Earth God beliefs of many so-called Liberals... and so on.

No, I cannot see all of the Satans of this world, as seen through their eyes. That you can, and that you sympathize with them, is odd to me. And yes, their ideals are completely foreign and disagreeable. Termy wrote that quote, "I do not care if they boil their kids, freeze their old people and stone their Women. That is their fucking business."

I realize that I cannot change the world, but I do not have to agree with any such primitive traditions and beliefs, nor accept or facilitate them.

Go help them. Take your own fucking guns, life, money and everything over there and if you feel the need to help, by all means help.

What I am saying is that we do not belong on the picture. People are animals and lions chase down and eat other animals alive. We pay to care for our own animals, not every animal in the world. We got enough fucking problems. Have the boss call us when he gets a chance to sit down. That is the way of the world, the way of the world is not going to remold itself in our hypocritic image. It is futile to try to "civilise" the world especially when we are having problems in that area ourselves.

And even if things were going great, with prosperity and a utopian society that is as rich as we think we are, we STILL HAVE NO FUCKING BUSINESS OVER THERE. Except to get their natural resources. With fiat currency.

That's fucking stealing.

absolutely nowhere in my post did i say anything about accepting, facilitating, or sympathizing with them. i don't do any of those things. i understand their motivation, and i understand that sometimes the West IS at fault -- but i don't think killing people who disagree with you is a great way to get your point across. Boko Haram believes that, which, to me, makes them wrong.  they believe committing one terrible wrong will right other wrongs, and that is a philosophy that doesn't really get anyone anywhere. they do more disservice to their cause through their methods than any of their enemies would ever need to do.
But i can say that without turning a blind eye to the wrongs of my country and giving petty lip service to patriotism, like you do.

Status: offline 		Forget about how this differs from our revolution.  How does this differ from our own past behavior toward Native Americans, blacks, Hispanics?  And how does what is happening in Nigeria differ from where the Christian right would like to take the US today, with their war on, not only female reproductive rights, but female health care, personhood amendments and other right wing policies aimed at bringing us ever closer to a Christian theocracy.

Care to find a link suggesting they want to expand out of their own area ? I know from before that you have trouble backing up claims, but thought I would give you another chance.
The more dangerous radical groups, and the better established, are those in the Christain south (where the oil actually is ) The bigger issue in Nigeria is the fight of the poor against the corrupt government.

I dont see how your spitting on my patriotism, or building a strawman fallacy about me "turning a blind eye to the wrongs of my country" is relevant or helpful to the discussion, but I do appreciate your effort to (otherwise) address the topic in more of an intelligent manner than certain others seem capable of. I am finding that you deserve my respect, because you seem real and sincere.
