I’m bored and feeling restless I don’t know what to do I’m listening to the radio Under a brightly shining moon I feel the need to be outside These four walls pen me in A dormant hunger wakens And calls me from within I step outside, cloaked by the chill Of an early autumn night And fix my gaze upon the moon Bathing in its light A rapid change sweeps over me A painful transmutation And suddenly I find myself Craving human libation No longer mortal, compelled by rage I began to hunt the streets A strolling cat, a lazy dog Were easy prey for me A child left unattended A couple in their car And a crusty, profane codger Staggering from a bar My carnage reigned throughout the night As blood dripped from my jaws Victims, running futilely Were cut down by my claws One by one I slaughtered Until two before the dawn When I found myself surrounded By an armed, unruly mob I turned my hedonism From a victim not quite drained Life still coursing through its shell And glared at them with hate They aimed their pistols at me Returning my foul stare And fired silver bullets Ending our nightmare I thought I was a good man I said my prayers at night And tried to live a simple life Knowing wrong from right Nonetheless, I must confess I died a lycanthrope And for every human, like me There simply is no hope So the next time you’re out walking Under a moon that’s full and bright Be mindful of the path you take As you move about the night For evil lurks in shadows Those places we can’t see And you might likely suffer The fate that fell on me
