SternSkipper -> Miss OWS Goes To Washington (11/8/2011 10:16:16 PM)

Today, my young friend and chat pal Kelley Brannon is starting the first of what will be a number of 240 mile Marches to Washington DC to address a number of key issues as they approach their deadlines and Congress doesn't act in a timely manner. The intention is to pick up folks along the route and go to the White House & House on or before the November 23rd Super Committee Meeting of the extension of tax cuts for the wealthy.
That's her and OWS's target. Not our next, but it starts tomorrow so it's prudent to announce it. Hopefully, there will be a fair number that join the march along the way.

Occupy The Highway: The 99% March to Washington Posted 1 day ago on Nov. 7, 2011, 5:30 p.m. EST by OccupyWallSt On November 23rd, the Congressional Deficit Reduction Super-Committee will meet to decide on whether or not to keep Obama's extension to the Bush tax-cuts - which only benefit the richest 1% of Americans in any kind of significant way. Luckily, a group of OWS'ers are embarking on a two-week march from Liberty Plaza to the Whitehouse to let the committee know what the 99% think about these cuts. Join the march to make sure these tax cuts for the richest 1% of Americans are allowed to die!Read  more...

Here's the route ... if you live in one of those cities and can spare the time, please join your fellow Americans in this important effort to start the process toward equity in our society.....

Everybody promised to wait till Kelley had ALL her stuff set up and group funding... sorry.I thought I was under some obligation because of the content of saturdays's two-site GA. Some woman there even said to me... "oh this is cool, like a surprise for next week"... Guess I missed the first announcement cause they published. Ah well least it's going to happen. I heard sunday some guy was trying to delay it. The timiming is pretty important though.

They were all waiting on Tazzy to give them direction in the matter.

Her ideas on the matter have been as good as anyone's. Like I've said a million times now... The republicans always talk about their big tent. We have a bigger park.

For a minute there I thought I'd missed seeing news about the beauty pageant. [:D]

Seriously, though, if this is going to clog up highways and snarl traffic, you guys are going to be about as popular as shit on a salad.

LOL,too funny subrob....perhaps you will consider that these folks aren't interested in the opinion of those predisposed to dismiss them out of hand.
Let's be honest....you are not the "target audience" at all....not even a little bit....lol .

My understanding is that there won't be any travel on Highways. And between NYC and DC, the movement has a HUGE approval rating. I got a tweet from a friend that's among the original 'baker's dozen' that said they no sooner got across the Hudson and an older woman started driving along slowly next to them offering to have them over for dinner.
NJ has Chris Christie for their government many from NJ will consider shit a distinct improvement over what's actually on their salad [:D]

Yes Kirata, cus people will notice those roads being anything different than what they are on a daily basis: fully and totally congested. Unlike the Tea Party, the OWS isn't going to have 1/2 hourly reports on their status/trip from FOX News.

Sanity -> RE: Miss OWS Goes To Washington (11/9/2011 1:33:22 PM)

I think theyre suffering from the delusion that they really are the 99%

mnottertail -> RE: Miss OWS Goes To Washington (11/9/2011 1:36:40 PM)

Yeah, its more like 91% since the republican congress is taking the 9% approval rating to the bank.

slvemike4u -> RE: Miss OWS Goes To Washington (11/9/2011 1:47:56 PM)

Just as you suffer from the delusion that any of your posts are relevant ?

mnottertail -> RE: Miss OWS Goes To Washington (11/9/2011 1:49:08 PM)
