Which one is yours, and why?

Wrath
Lust
Envy
Gluttony
Pride
Sloth
Greed

I think, regardless of what people say, everyone suffers from all of them at some point and time.

Anyone who says they have never felt wrath is full of shit.
If you think you have never "lusted" after someone, think back to your crush.
Everyone who has ever seen someone with something new and thought, "I would like to have that," has felt envy.
Gluttony? Because no one has ever overindulged on a meal, expense or anything ever in their life, right?
If one has NEVER felt pride in a job well done...well, they should get some help for those self esteem problems.
Every sleep in on a Saturday or Sunday morning, or taken a "mental health" day? That would be sloth.
Wanting to make as much money as you can at a job, or get the best grades in school? Even just not want to share, whether it be your food or a partner. Little bit of greed going on.

That doesn't mean people feel these things all the time, but the reality is that at one time or another, every adult in the world has experience one of the "Seven Deadly Sins." They ARE in the bible, part of Proverbs, although not called the "Seven Deadly Sins" of course.

As to whether or not they are a "sin...." it all depends on whether it is an all consuming thing consisting of some choice.

1- Lust is not a sin people, its a gift, its Love,
2- Greed is not either its more like ambition.

Lust and love are vastly different. Lust is driven soley by carnal desire, love is not.

Likewise, greed and ambition. Ambition has a lot more to do with pride than with greed. Not that it is a bad thing.

fr

if i were a believer then i would be guilty of the sins of all of them. as i'm a non believer i can't be held guilty of them as a 'sin'.

now the things i've done make me guilty of all in the list. as a generic term though i'm happy to use the word sin.

as Bauhaus so aptly put it.......assist me to walk away in sin......

and oh boy doesn't he just

I prefer profit.

popeye1250 -> RE: What's your sin? (11/10/2011 6:12:25 PM)

Lust hands down.
I could take a five minute walk through a shopping mall and see 50 women I'd love to fuck.
I've always had a high libido which could be good and bad.
When I was a teenager I had to jack off 6-8 times a day just to keep myself calmed down.
In high school I'd get a boner walking down the halls between classes looking at all the good looking girls and have to hold my books in front of my crotch..
I had a hard upbringing I tell ya!

Iamsemisweet -> RE: What's your sin? (11/10/2011 8:57:00 PM)

Vanity, but I don't consider it a sin. And apparently it is not, because it didn't even make the list.

Termy, "gluttony?" You really don't look in your picture like you like to put on the feedbag.

Temptation leads me to sin
I can resist anything but temptation

You should add arrogance...my weakness and sin

Both vanity and arrogance come from excess pride. I know, I suffer from both.

Tantriqu -> RE: What's your sin? (11/11/2011 12:06:12 PM)

Since adolescence, lovely, lovely Lust, with only pinches of wrath, envy, gluttony, pride, sloth and greed.
Seeing other souls consumed by these other sins, I feel lucky.
And what lovely company I'll have in the 2nd circle of hell, while purveyors of natural health products and other snakeoil get-rich-quick quackery languish in their 8th circle of loathsome diseases.
Yay!
And why isn't lying or cowardice on the list? Hmph. Dante did better than the bible.
