other countries market themselves, it's not that bananas.
does anyone else remember the great pro-Kazakhstan commercials that came out during the Borat epidemic? =p
they showed the Kazakh people doing positive things like using cell phones, women involved in daily life, etc. -- basically anything to counteract the impression people were getting from Borat.
our economy is in a tailspin and global opinion of us isn't so great; we need to boost both of those things, and tourism dollars can be biiiig business.
