willbeurdaddy -> Obama votes "present "on the keystone pipeline (11/11/2011 10:05:13 AM)

The OA delays considering the pipeline till after the election. 20,000 specialized direct jobs, half a million indirect jobs. Yeah, he puts jobs before his environmental whacko supporters.

slvemike4u -> RE: Obama votes "present "on the keystone pipeline (11/11/2011 10:08:31 AM)

Fucking whackos, imagine being concerned with the ecosystem...what the fuck is wrong with these folks.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Obama votes "present "on the keystone pipeline (11/11/2011 10:09:04 AM)

geez i have no idea. wow. what the hell is an "ecosystem" anyway? liberal propaganda?

slvemike4u -> RE: Obama votes "present "on the keystone pipeline (11/11/2011 10:10:58 AM)

Yeah ,fucking whackos I tell you..whackos [:D]

DomKen -> RE: Obama votes "present "on the keystone pipeline (11/11/2011 10:13:12 AM)

Yeah how dare the President re-examine a poorly planned and under engineered pipeline certain to damage the environment across a broad swath of the central US if built. And all for a tiny quantity of very expensive low quality crude.

slvemike4u -> RE: Obama votes "present "on the keystone pipeline (11/11/2011 10:14:27 AM)

I hope there is an election coming up...we must get rid of this usurper [:D]

Your pipeline engineering knowledge apparently is similar to your AGW knowledge. Slim and none.

However, for you and those who dont know what voting "present" means, this thread has nothing to do with the merits of the pipeline, but the political game playing he is willing to do garner a few votes. If you cant make a decision that is going to be unpopular with some of your constituency, get the fuck out of office.

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Obama votes "present "on the keystone pipeline (11/11/2011 10:16:46 AM)

there's a huuuuge movement against the pipeline here in NE. it'll come right through some very unique land called the Sandhills. people in NE rightfully love the Sandhills, and don't want a badly engineered pipeline threatening future viability of the area.

yeah, but ALLLLL of the people here in NE who don't want that pipeline are total whackos. =p

i'm tired of people from far, far away making decisions with only profits in mind. who gets stuck with the mess if something goes wrong? the people who live there.

slvemike4u -> RE: Obama votes "present "on the keystone pipeline (11/11/2011 10:17:32 AM)

It would appear that description works well for your expertise in any and all fields [:D]
Slim and none

Lucylastic -> RE: Obama votes "present "on the keystone pipeline (11/11/2011 10:28:29 AM)

Once again WIlbur thinks its vote getting, not the problems with the pipeline or the people against it, but he isnt even voting present.

Im glad its been postponed, it hasnt been looked at properly, its money chasing money not votes, but then wilbur never could see past the green(money not the environment)

What's the loss per mile per day of the Keystone XL pipeline as presently proposed? Why is it higher than the TransAlaska pipeline built 30+ years ago? Why is it routed through environmentally sensitive areas near Yellowstone and in Nebraska?

Not to hijack (too much), how the fuck did you get it not to linebreak like that ?

But I will share the laugh, partly because of who it came from and also that discussing the issue causing the controversy doesn't seem all that illogical to me.

Myself, fuckit, anything that makes gas cheaper is good. You want all kinds of tanker trucks running around all the time ? If you don't like the looks of the pipe pay the extra bucks and bury it.

Just make it out of something that won't rust, that simple.

T^T

Lucylastic -> RE: Obama votes "present "on the keystone pipeline (11/11/2011 12:33:44 PM)

or able to be broken, frozen, erode, crack, leak, smashed, ruptured, corrode etc etc etc
Theres a high frost line , burying it wouldbe super problematic, earthquakes, etc
That was the reason for the hilarity*who it was who said it* Im still chortling*
irony and cynicism and just plain fucking funny:)

So your claim is that even if a pipeline or other project is useless and prone to breakage, someone should vote for it because of political expediency?

When it comes to 'Political Expediency', the GOP has a HUGE track record of 'stalling' on anything and everything. They were against the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, because they REALLY wanted this country to be in an even bigger depression than the Great Depression (it would make Obama look bad they hoped....). The American Affordable Care Act was stalled as much as congressionally possible by the Republicans. The GOP doesnt care if millions of Americans cant even get minimal health coverage to prevent simple illnesses. How about that 'Political Expediency' when it came to the debt problems back in July of this year? Yeah, the GOP was 'Oh....so very 'helpful' in making sure America could maintain its debt obligations that the GOP expanded on during the 8 years Bush was in office. Didn't our credit score go down from triple A status cus of these say 'politically expedient' Republicans and their Tea Party lackeys?

And this 'super committe' is a joke, the GOP cant ever be 'Political Expedient' because that would mean raising taxes on their corporate masters (and their fanatical worship of one Grover Norquiest). In 12 days, their sacred cow will be chopped up, unless they grow a brain. They're 'ok' with sending millions of Americans (the grand majority in the private sector) to the unemployment line rather than raise taxes on the richest 1%. Their even trying to get out of the original deal of the super committe. Because why should they have to be accountible and responsible with power? Only Democrats abuse the public's good will and power.

Maybe we should question willbeurdaddy with a 'fine tooth comb' and 'under a microscope' to find his 'exact' defination of 'political expediency'. As the concept doesnt seem to be the same as the majority of sane Americans in this country.

Iamsemisweet -> RE: Obama votes "present "on the keystone pipeline (11/11/2011 3:51:46 PM)

If you choose to see this as political pandering, Wilbur, I guess that it is up to you.  That is what I have come to expect of you.  However, the environmental laws of this country, as well as common sense, require that less harmful alternatives be carefully considered and weighed, and this pipeline is a doozy in terms of the environment.  Also, the delay wasn't the work of "environmental whackos, but instead, according to the Washington Post was opposed by:

environmentalists and an eclectic group of ranchers, farmers and other opponents say the pipeline could threaten habitat along its route and could destabilize the climate because the oil it would transport is especially energy-intensive to extract.

You really don't believe that a project of this scope is worth some careful study?

jlf1961 -> RE: Obama votes "present "on the keystone pipeline (11/11/2011 4:23:50 PM)

Funny thing that the op does not seem to grasp.

The President has no vote in either the senate or the house, so he could not vote present.  I do believe you conservatives need to take a refresher course in civics.
