I was wondering if anyone has taken any measures against electronic smog in their home.   ??

One thing important on this- is one should not sleep in a field of high electronic smog. I deally the room would have no elctrical- no tv, no electro magnetic waves.

These waves bombard your boby. Over time- this will effect your immune system. It is important to open windows in the home for this as well as other pollutants.

Hugs to all,

Turbo

I realize this, yet refuse to do anything about it. I am not turning everything off ...lol

I hear you. This place is so wired- I put off painting as I would never figure them all out again.  :-)

I agree that excessive EM energy exposure has a multitude of risks, including lowered immune response and increased cancer. (Think about the classic living under high power transmission lines example.)

I will also agree that opening windows for fresh air is generally a good idea (unless you live in LA or someplace else where the sky occasionally has a yellowish haze).

However, EM energy is not like most pollutants (which are bioproducts like dander and mold, or chemicals). Opening a window isn't going to help you out on that one. EM won't carry along breezes like mold spores will. It can get into some painful math, but check out wave propagation and field dynamics for more complete explanations.

Personally, I accept the EM exposure as part of modern living (and my creature comforts) and accept its consequences. Cavaet: This is coming from a commo monkey and electronics hobbyist who's earned himself a fair handful of RF burns though, so take my all-too-willing acceptance of EM overexposure with a grain of salt.

I've noticed that I get a headache when I'm around large quantities of electromagnetic waves for a long time.  I refuse to have a TV in the bedroom, but that's for different reasons (bad for relationships, sleep, etc.).  My husband is a high-tech junkie, and I'm exactly the opposite.  I won't preach to him about cutting down on electronics, but I do insist that he condense them in other rooms.  The only things I'll allow wired into the bedroom are the lights, my stand fan, and occasionally my laptop.

In 1987, a buddy of mine wanted to build a lead [?] room- to escape the radiation waves. I thought it sounded abit odd. Well that was before teck. [4 desktops and 1 laptop cpu, not counting beacon lights, cell phone, satilite dish]

I live around Amish and meninite. They seem very calm.

I just got new eye glasses. There is a coating to deflect computer monitor rays in the lense. [ran $10]

I have n o computers in the bedroom. No clthing either- [but thats for allergens]

Every war- -produces a technology boost. The Iraq war- should produce more then it has to this point.

Then there is the obsolenssence. After 8-tracks went to cassettes....I was hesitant. I can say- I have never ever bought a CD. Now it is ipods-mp3s, frankly I wish I knew more about teck.

Today- 2 screens are commen. computer and tv- from same view.
If you are not wired- you are left behind.

Good point. Dander is everywhere too.

Im not sure how one would shield oneself tho. You know- in practical terms. Maybe partical board instead of drywall?????

Tinfoil hats.

Seriously, though, some types of metal will help.  Other than that it's just distance.  I have a book that covers this somewhere.  If I find it, I'll post relevent tidbits.

I wanted a tinfoil hat but I was told that they can increase the radio frequencies that the government uses to control us ( I truly am just kidding)
