The question was directed at Hill... but.. eh... anyone can answer.

Now maybe you can figure out what "it" is.

lovmuffin -> RE: Gingrich, Romney and Cain In Dead Heat (11/14/2011 3:42:49 PM)

No, for me you just gota spell it out.  I think I know what the meaning of "is" is.

tazzygirl -> RE: Gingrich, Romney and Cain In Dead Heat (11/14/2011 3:44:54 PM)

Not my job.

I agree with Romney. Please explain your rationale for Rubio.

Secures Florida, pulls some of the Hispanic vote from the rest of the country. Bonafide social conservative to balance Romney's more centrist tendencies. Would destroy Biden in a debate, exposing him for the puppet he is.

lovmuffin -> RE: Gingrich, Romney and Cain In Dead Heat (11/14/2011 4:34:17 PM)

I'm still not seein it.  Romney can't break out of where he's at to take the lead. His poll numbers just stay the same while some one else seems to always over take him. First it's Perry then it's Cain. Romney can't close the deal.

I get the Rubio logic but I would hate to lose him as my senator. Even if he wasn't my senator I would hate to lose him to a place where he has little effect.  Rubio says definitively that he won't take the VP slot.

Rubio's denials are meaningless. A sitting Senator cannot show any interest in running for VP, because if he isnt tapped then he's jeoparidized his seat. Little effect? Tell that to those that vilify Cheney.

Romney is the only viable candidate from the current group. The only chance that he doesnt get it is if someone is drafted at the convention, and thats highly unlikely. That he remains around 25% despite the surges by other candidates is more important than him not increasing his lead. The only polls that count right now are those vs Obama, and he show's the strongest of anybody in those.

Owner59 -> RE: Gingrich, Romney and Cain In Dead Heat (11/14/2011 4:58:29 PM)

Newty will only be the next non-Mitt flavor of the week.

He`s another I`d love love love to see get the GOP nod.Very beatable.

My guess tho is that Newt will beat himself and it`ll be back to Mitt.

Poor Mitt.[:D]

tazzygirl -> RE: Gingrich, Romney and Cain In Dead Heat (11/14/2011 5:02:02 PM)

Then how did McCain carry it off?

Still Blowing Rubio Bubbles eh?
Hysterical

It'll never get past fact that Mormonism  is a CULT and he'll get gutted like a fucking hornpout by the religious right in his own party. Plus people  asking the hard question, like do you really want a guy who gets all blinkey and twitchy when someone simply shouts out "No You're Wrong" from a crowd in charge of your nuclear arsenal?
Then there's the adult diaper issue....

I wonder what kind of 'terrible mishap' Newt will have in the coming weeks rolling up to the next few debates? It's GOT to be a huge opne since America is already used to Newt's getgetting caught trying to fuck everything but mexican burros. I'm thinking that since Romney's camp already foreshadowed finances with the jewelry store leak... it will be a big money problem.
Either way, the very fact that newt is still in and rising is proof in living color that a VERY SIGNIFICANT number of the GOP mainstream are scared shitless of having to go up against Obama with Mitt PeePants Romney. Otherwise they'd be walking away in droves from these other two trainwrecks. And it would be down to Newt with like 8% and Romney with the rest.

Current Group?
You think there'll be more... concede now and spare PeePants the embarrassment

The wife will be Newty`s downfall.

That`s the reason for the half million Tiffany bill.

The Tiffany bill was one of the major reasons his staff quit.

And Newty is getting asked about his affair(s) during the Clinton impeachment.

theres another group waiting in the wings?
im not sure I can stand the hilarity
boehner, cantor, reid, palin, brewer, walsh, who else could have this clusterruck taken care of?

Owner59 -> RE: Gingrich, Romney and Cain In Dead Heat (11/14/2011 5:41:19 PM)

It`s going to be Mitt when this is over.

It`s going to end ugly tho, turning a lot of folks off.

Then, it will be the republican-lite version of President Obama vs President Obama.[:D]

Ok......Rubio maybe I can see it but I have to point out Cheney had more effect on policy than the average VP. Conservatives though don't much like Romney. He's the guy who is a republican governor from a state where Ted Kennedy literally had to die before they finally stopped electing him.
Ya got the health care thing, doesn't matter how ya want to spin it many conservatives aren't buyin. Then there is the gun control thing, I'm so happy he's against it now but I just hope he doesn't turn out like the first George Herbert Card Carryin Member Of The NRA Walker Bush.  Then there is the abortion thing.  I personally don't give a fuck one way or the other but once again he used to be for it before he was against it. It sounds like Kerry and once again many conservatives won't be buyin that either.  He is a majopr flip-flopper and I don't see what makes him so viable compared to some of the others, especially Gingrich.  Even though Romney shows highest in the polls against Obama Cain and Gingrich are within reach. My strong belief is Gingrich is viable and when he gets the nomination he's going to tear the democrats a new one.

I'm think Romney is another squishy republican similar to McCain who is not a 100% conservative.  I think Obama would much rather run against Romney, contrary to what the mainstream media is tryin to say.  If Obama has to run against Gingrich, the whole freakin democrat party is gunna get their heads handed to em on a stick.

This is my prediction on this 14th day of November, 2011 and I think the third or forth time over the weeks here I have said it's gunna be Newt. I know it's contrary to the popular punditry but I don't see how you can count him out.

Is Vegas takin odds on this ?

Romney's problem is that he's the strongest candidate to oppose Obama in the general, but his party doesn't like him.  It's a weird situation, in which Romney's popularity has stayed solid as a rock, while the other flavors-of-the-week have zoomed up to eclipse him, and then spectacularly shot down shortly after.  I see him winning NH strongly, but anyone winning Iowa will give him a good run.

I agree with most of your logic, but I think the Hispanic bloc is more fragmented than that.  The Cuban-Americans are traditionally GOP, so he wouldn't deliver much there.  Florida is of course a major battleground, so there is that appeal, and Romney would indeed need to shore up the cons in the party.

Better to look at it as he was the final straw for thins that in regard to electing 'republican governors'. Deval Patrick being the first Democratic Governor since 1991.
Mitt Romney's having been elected governor was no great feat. And the people got friggin sick of him almost immediately. See we got wind he had started working on his presidential aspirations virtually from day one. People even died from his appointing IMBECILES to key offices like director of transportation during the big dig. Once they leaked the news he had an official exploration for candidacy, people actually breathed a sigh of relief.
He by the way is the AUTHOR of the penalizing people who cannot afford healthcare, so he's well remembered for that too. Along with his shithead sneaks coming up with relaxed standards of what could be called health care insurance. When his plan kicked in fucking LOO LOO companies like MegaHealth and Life could come in offering $500 do nothing plans where the victim had to pay the premium but couldn't get a single office visit paid for and major surgery had a $10k deductible before ANY coverage kicked in.
And THAT is the guy that's a natural for president? Really? Of what country?
