It stops counterfeiters in two ways - it costs more to print them than they're worth. T^T

That's not news really, they've been using those plasticy notes all over the world since the 80s. Travel broadens the mind, don't you know?

oh imo, it will be a while before the US does that.. they only just started putting purdy colors on their bills, Canada has had colored money as far back as i can remember... not that i am saying the US is a little behind or anything.. [:D]
