I think it might be because of personality in terms of selling yourself either over or under but I do not think it has anything to do with immaturity. There are plenty of people of all ages and gender who can brag about themselves to no end and plenty who think everything they do is no big deal. Whether this totally aligns with dominant or submissive behavior is of one's opinion. I personally believe that they are not mutually inclusive but do overlap to the point of many more submissive people will under sell themselves than dominants as a percentage and vice versa.

I do agree this may not necessaily be due to immaturity, at least not maturity as it relates to age. I would suggest that inexperience in dealing with the task of "stating your worth" and exemplifying your qualities would be a better way of putting it. Similarly, submissive traits often don't usually call for touting positive qualities either, at least on the surface, because I have seen many sub/slaves who naturally will downplay their positive aspects. Certainly this wouldn't include everyone, but I would have to surmise that this combination would be fairly prevalent in many cases. I would have to assume then, that a submissive who may have limited experience in presenting themselves in an auspicious light, may have difficulty in composing a resume and as previously mentioned, holding their own in an interview. Is this an insurmountable problem? I would think not, but I do think they would have to conciously concentrate on all their positive aspects and go into the task of selling theirselves with a new found sense of confidence. In the end, this could pay off in their involvement in their lifestyle quests as well. I certainly won't profess to speak for all Dominants, but I would speculate that most of us prefer someone who is not exactly pompus or conceited, but is however confident and self assured in who and what they are.

As always I agree with Scooter. Being the "Bitch in Charge" where I work I see resume's ALL the time. The braggarts go into the "file I will never open" along with the ones that have scary lapses in unemployment and questionable residences. If they actually bring in their resume' I usually make sure I am the one that takes it from them, I can tell in a few seconds if they are someone I would want in the shop by their demeanor. I could explain it differently but you all would really think I am a wacked case. I don't mind training someone that has no experience, sometimes they are far better than the ones that think they know it all and never do. Its kind of like the slave training comments I have seen and heard, "you may have years of experience but not My way!"
