We're going to Oldhen's for Thanksgiving !!

Mummyman, Hausboy, and LadyHib will also be attending, and some others I've never met.

I just talked to her this morning over menu issues, we have a Thanksgiving Feast planned fit for a King (or at least a dom).

We really look forward to seeing OldHen and Mummyman again, and can't want to meet LadyH, Hausboy and others.

Here's to hoping everyone has a great feast planned. . .

Sounds like loads of fun!

This year I am not cooking the full meal here. For the first time in quite a few years we decided to go to Generic Dude's dad's house for the meal. We haven't done it in a long time.

Then on Friday I am going to hang out with my two wild and crazy, motocross racing wild men. (the grandsons) And take some family photos for my daughter as they will be spending the night Thursday night.

Unsure what the rest of the long weekend holds.

"I want my cake Bedelia!!!"   I'm jealous, however, I'll be serving food at a homeless shelter and then off to my baby-brother's house to eat and watch scary movies all curled up in the living room. On Friday, I get to help them put up their Xmas tree, drink great coffee and, ahem, curl up on the couch. Best to all of you and safe travels. Hugs all around for me please.

Thanks Chatte. I so envy those who will be there. I've heard very good things about Chickie's get togethers.

Mummyman's coming, Hausboy is coming, you're coming, I'm coming, we're all....um..attending the feast.

Rumor has it, Mummyman is bringing some "interesting" equipment.

And yes, it should be more than a house full. Okay, off to look up more humus recipes. I'm "appetizers" and "other random stuff like homemade cranberry sauce" and probably "gravy."

And I am seriously thinking we need a blueberry pie. Can you have too much pie at a feast????

I'm bringing Berger's Cookies from Baltimore.  They are the best crack in Baltimore....er, 2nd best.  [I have heard, on good authority, Baltimore crack is quite good. I hear the heroin is excellent grade too.]

http://bergercookies.com/

They consist of a very soft, moist cakey cookie, resembling a very soft non-crumbly shortbread....and then it has this THICK rich hard cake frosting piled on top of it.  This time of year they can be hard to find...and the local grocers marked the price up to $7 a box but worth every single penny.  (almost a buck a cookie)    But they are SOOOO good and you can only get them here, although I heard that some delis in NYC now carry them.  They look gross but damn they're good.  You can't eat more than 2 or 3 of them at a sitting.... I put away 8 of them once on a dare but I swore off them for about three years after that! lol.

home made cranberry sauce is the easiest thing in the world to make! And the home made stuff has actual cranberries in it, lol.

You can never have too much pie/dessert at any feast. They should, however, be eaten first so that they are properly enjoyed....

Have a wonderful time!

This will be my first time not doing the full monty in at least 30 years. So I'm looking forward to being kitchen help as opposed to the doing the whole shebang.

Hope you and yours the very best feast day!!

Now the big question is: cookies before or after the pie??

Choices, choices.
