We as a country seem to get more dumb each day. And I think it's willful a lot of the time.

Lockit -> RE: Brainless (11/21/2011 5:08:26 PM)

There was another case of a five or six year old in Fl. being arrested for the same thing about ten or so years ago. I never found out what happened, but apparently they still have the same brain numbing idiots in charge.

JstAnotherSub -> RE: Brainless (11/21/2011 5:09:01 PM)

Insanity.

I stood Friday, and watched a kindergarten boy and girl walk down the hall, hand in hand.  He had walked her to the office for ice, after she got a boo boo.

All I could think was how sweet that is.  Calling the cops never even crossed my mind!

Rules is rules. Anything not to have to think.

LafayetteLady -> RE: Brainless (11/21/2011 10:08:27 PM)

It's like anything else. In order to avoid the possibility of inpropriety and inappropriate, unwanted behavior, they ban and criminalize ALL behavior.

I got a call about my son when he was in junior high. He got in trouble for kissing his girlfriend in school. Now I didn't like the girlfriend, but told the Asst. Principal I thought he was being ridiculous, and that if he took disciplinary action on my son for that I would fight him. But I do understand why they do it. The one school that doesn't is going to have some parent screaming their kid wasn't properly supervised and was attacked. We all know it would happen.

They don't want to have to think. They don't want to have to discern. They want everything in policies so they don't have to take any responsibility or take any chance of making a mistake. Whatever the rule says is what it says. They can't be blamed for following them can they? They have to follow the rules. Even if they are not logical.

domiguy -> RE: Brainless (11/21/2011 10:30:10 PM)

Apparently the OP feels that the action of one dumb person equates to a "country."

Two girls fighting over him. A girl kissed him. And everybody knows it. Other than the cops being called it was a good day.

JstAnotherSub -> RE: Brainless (11/22/2011 4:41:46 AM)

The thing is, working in schools nowadays is like walking a minefield.  Some parents are fucking looney tunes, and not in that funny Bugs Bunny way.

A dad who sees a boy mindlessly playing with his daughters hair, as they watch a video, goes down the hall screaming you motherfuckers better make that kid keep his hands off my daughter or I will.  The kids were in Kindergarten.

One kid tells another kid that they don't want to be their friend anymore, (even though they are best friends and, without adult intervention would be ok in a few minutes probably), but that falls in to bullying.  Get some asshat of a parent, and the kid goes home and says "Lil Susie said I couldn't play with her and she wasn't my friend anymore!", asshat parent comes in upset because her child was being bullied.

It is fucking ridiculous.  I love the kids, and I love my job, but all the political correctness makes me wanna puke.

Bullshit! That whole, "Just following orders," did not work at Nuremberg and it does NOT need to working here.

These idiot teachers that have no middle ground need to be place on stakes. Short ones.

Pikes will do for these principals that allow it.

Then we could start over.

True. Now he has a new story to tell. I wonder if his tale will grow too. By the time he's done he might swear the cops pointed a gun at him.

No, with superior stock... since in all of my apocalyptic fantasies I not only survive but become a great warrior who defeats the mutant hordes, founds his own kingdom, and owns hundreds of slave girls and impregnates every one of them. [:D]

Hey, I've always felt that if you're going to fantasize... you might as well go for it. [8D]

[:D] well if you're going to dream you might as well go big. I heard that was supposed to be how Saudi Arabia was started. So the legend goes.
