ORIGINAL: kalikshama Fox's Megyn Kelly: Pepper Spray Used On UC-Davis Protesters Is "A Food Product, Essentially" I wonder if that stupid bint knows that Cyanide is also "Essentially a food product" http://www.ehow.com/about_5201273_natural-source-cyanide-plants.html Technically she's right, there is nothing in pepper spray you cannot ingest. I don't know about UC Davis, but we're only allowed to use water based OC spray here, due to concerns of the oil based being flammable, and not compatible with the use of Tasers. If I had to guess, the UC Davis guy used First Defense® MK-9, OC/CS Except of course the capsaicin concentrations in law enforcement pepper spray are several times more concentrated than you would find in even the hottest habanero. Also the quantity of capsaicin a person gets from being sprayed is significantly more than is found in a pepper. The fact is that capsaicin is a chemical irritant in mammals and can cause serious injuries when over or improperly exposed. Of course the same is true for many things we consume. I invite any and all cons, including miss Kelly, who don't understand this basic fact to try a single serving of polar bear liver, its just vitamin A after all. What harm could that do?
