At long last our first snow of the season :-) WooHoo let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Still enough kid in me that i remain to tilt my head back and to have slowly falling fluffy flakes melt on my tongue. I can do without the slush and cold but I love the snow. Each year I remain to make snow angels. A wet sticky snow this morning... great for snow forts and  snowmen... errr snow persons! Reminds me of younger years with snowball fights and playing 'king of the hill'... err "monarch of the hill." A snowball fight today likely would result in assault charges :-(  Pond hockey and outdoor skating rinks.... ohhh gawd how Canadian and soooo many fun filled hours.

Also remember breaking my arm tobogganing at the power dam. Lesson learned there... never wax a new Christmas toboggan when snow is ice covered... ohh yeah... and watch out for pine trees at the bottom!  Remember partying and going down a small local ski hill in a cardboard box... more exhilarating than in younger years riding boxes down the stairs on grocery night. lol  Hot chocolate is perfect in the winter or hot apple cider and Beaver Tails on the Rideau Canal while scoping out the ice sculptures ... a yearly ritual.

If it's snowing early evening, instead of our normal stroll my four legged buddy and I shall enjoy a early evening stroll amongst the trees and at peace with the wonders of Mother Nature.

Even with power exchange and submission snow has played a part...running and rolling in the snow naked, making snow angels in my birthday suit, being a target for snowball practice. Shoveling becomes a pleasure when done for the one i adore and to warm and clean her car, a privilege indeed. Ahhh winter when ladies bring out their boots... absolute love boots !

Ohhh yessss let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!  :-)

Hahahaha! I thought I liked you. ;) I still catch snowflakes and make snow angels and snowmen! Our first snowfall was about 3 weeks ago. I was in the parking lot of a nearby grocery store and started laughing and dancing around and squealing right there! Onlookers be damned!

I do even love shoveling the snow... although I much prefer the snow blower. LOL

But the best for me is early early in the morning, when there's nary a car to be heard anywhere, and the flakes are falling like so many miniature rainbows, with the lonely streetlights reflecting off of them, and it's so quiet that the snowflakes can be heard hitting eachother in the air and landing on my head and shoulders. It's a perfect peace in just a single moment in time to me. I will get up in the middle of the night sometimes in the winter and walk to the park near here to just sit on the bench under a lamp, close my eyes and just listen to the stillness.

This time of year is the time I love and live for. From the second the last snowflake falls, to the time the first one of the new season lands in my palm, it's what I dream of constantly. :)

I bet a 50 mile commute twice a day, 5 days a week and having to shovel my lane of a foot of wet and icy snow would cure that.

(last year we had a storm it took two days to dig out of) Usually it just takes 3-4 hours to shovel.

Pfft, did that already LaT. Learned to drive in winter in North Dakota and my job was about 30 miles away. So, after the shoveling, and driving, I got to run around a kitchen for 12 hours, then do it all again. XD LOVED it! Nope, there's no cure for my love of the season. Have had loved ones pass right at the holidays, have many people I miss more than words can describe this time of year, but this is still my heart and soul put to a point in time. :)

It is my conclusion then, that you are mentally disturbed.

this time last year we had a foot of snow. for where i live it's a very rare thing these days.

i love the snow when it first falls and love to walk in it late at night. generally though i'd rather be without it. as it is this winter i am still out in a t-shirt when doing the horses and a body warmer when not.

Let's see.....I bet a week working outside in this shit on one of our construction projects would make you hate this fucking snow. Hate. I hate it.

I liked winter and snow before I moved here.
Well, I still like snow, I just don't like the persistence of winter. =p

Bring on the sledding!
Down in KS, winter sticks to its appropriate time frame. Up here... not so much.

I remember when I lived on the east coast, we got what I called a "light flocking" of snow, and people were going bananas. Chicks came to school in short-shorts, sandals, and giant sweaters. A salt-sand truck brigade was mobilized and it was "breaking news." It was fascinating. =p

this made me laugh Lilly. you should try living here in the uk. we get an inch of snow and the whole country grinds to a halt. we really don't know how to cope with snow. i heard that a team were sent to canada to learn from them how to do things. judging from last winter it was a waste of time.
