DerLachendeKater -> a question on spacing out sorta (5/27/2006 2:49:40 PM)

k me and my mistress were playing fairly rough it was going really well since she had promised not to hold back. at one point she was kind of lifting me up by just my collar so it was giving me that nice feeling of making it harder to breath and well that’s the last thing I remember, well that’s coherent anyways when I came back to reality which she said was only five seconds later I bolted up confused and actually not remembering how I got to be laying on her chest I wasn’t hurt or anything just completely confused. I had dozens of remainders of images floating through my head from the five seconds I was passed out or whatever happened but none of them made coherent sense yet they all seemed to involve her.

So yeah do you guys think I just blacked out or what? This kind of thing has never happened to me ever I mean I’ve been choked till I got the tingly feeling in my head but yeah any suggestions?

Fox and I once did some breath control stuff (I do not touch his neck by the way) and he a similar response. It taught me to really watch his eyes for signs of that panic before your breath really goes. Hasn't happened again. He's also had one spell when his blood sugar got too low. Again, I learned from it.

I think your brain was just deprived of what it needed for a bit too long. Unless you feel after effects you are probably fine.

But I'm sure it was scary. *HUG* (if that is ok?)

Not having a huge amount of personal experience,
but it is quite dangerous to do what you did.
Cutting off blood and oxygen to your brain can cause brain damage.
I may be mistaken, but you might not notice any damage at first, and do it again to close together thereby causing damage.

All My breath play is with a bag and clothespins to close it.
The clothepins rip right off and the plastic sticks to the face....its still not fool proof...breath play shouldnt be taken lightly.

thanks for the warning but i'm not one of those ammaturs who likes to be choked i'm with a mistress whos been doing stuff like this for 20+ years and considering how i kill people in manhunt (video game) with plastic bag's i don't think i'd ever want one used on me again thank you for your input

ps

Mistress says "After 20+ years of doing stuff like this I understand that things can still go wrong - which is why I have to watch closely and stopped immediately when I saw him go faint.  I agree - stuff like this should never be taken lightly."

Sounds like you had a syncopal episode from the airway restriction.  Many folks describe it as feeling like the curtains being pulled over your head/eyes.  There are some who only recall  the "waking up" phase of the syncope.  There seems to be no reason to suspect that this was caused by carotid sinus pressure on the carotid arteries (such as what happens in a true throttle-style choking of the neck.)

Hmm... Since I don't know the details of the situation, it's a bit hard to comment. Breath play is a touchy area, but also one in which we don't have to walk into blindly because there is a lot of educational resources available to us, both from a BDSM perspective, as well as medical/biological perspectives. For the most part, I avoid the throat as much as possible and engage in breath play mainly via covering the nose/mouth. The throat is a very sensitive area with very tiny parts that are fragile, and difficult, if not impossible at times, to mend.

What you describe sounds more like a pass-out than any kind of subspace. Especially with the tingly feeling you described. You didn't describe panic though, which most new players to breath play experience to a certain degree. Did you have a headache later that night or the next morning? If so, I'm placing my money on a pass-out due to low oxygen and high carbon dioxide. (Except again, that high carbon dioxide is usually signified through the "panic look".)

There are lots of resources and advice which can help you play a bit more safely. I never consider breath play "safe" per say, but there are many precautions that can be taken. I use a tap system, a clock, and keen observation. I never go for a pass-out. Most of the precautions are a simple matter of learning. It's worth the education.

Is that something similiar to the head rush feeling...stand up to fast and you go kinda faint.
