ORIGINAL: SternSkipper But all of a sudden, my Buddy Gil, who invented dial-up networking, says "Wow, now let me get this straight. I can develop a technology that changes the very way we all work while working for Intel and say, sit on the idea, and leave. Then get a patent on the idea, develop a product line and eventually get bought by a company like Intel for $60,000,000. OR I can tell you about it and you'll give me 5 grand right away. Am I right?" . And the jackass from Intel gave him an enthusiastic yes not even getting Gil had just given the history of our company in a nutshell... and he gave back a really enthusiastic "YES!". Gil got up and said, "Hey I think I made about 6 million in the stock conversion to Intel stock. So I'm gonna go to those shitheads at Coopers & Lybrand and cash it in. I've always wanted to race the Iditarod with my dogs... and I think they're about ready. Later". As Gill left people got up and applauded. So,... where is your Buddy Gil today? What did he do with his $60,000,000? Did he invest it or blow right thru it? Did he start any other new companies? Surely he must have eventually gotten a little tired of racing his dogs..
