Sanity -> NYT: Occupists Turn On Obama (12/1/2011 5:25:49 AM)

Ive been wondering about this, since the riots began. Could it be, theyre not all massive blithering hypocrites after all?

welcome to the real world [8|]
weve been trying to tell you this for three months, good heavens

There were about 100 of them, according to the report

In New York City

And does this mean, you have turned on Obama as well?

MissAsylum -> RE: NYT: Occupists Turn On Obama (12/1/2011 7:30:06 AM)

Doesn't debunk all the theories that they are "Obama's Occupiers"?

People around my age tend (age demographic of the majority of OWS) to have an intense distrust of politicians overall.

Moonhead -> RE: NYT: Occupists Turn On Obama (12/1/2011 7:54:44 AM)

I know that, you know that.

Sanity, on the other hand, knows that you are wrong: anybody who does or says anything even slightly liberal or left leaning is obviously a stooge of the (not merely right of centre, but occasionally right of even the GOP) Democrat party and whichever (monetarist and right leaning, natch) leader they currently have.

The way that most of his own party doesn't answer to the Kenyan, never mind the protestors who resent that he has Wall Street's hand just as far up his arse as his predecessor did is an irrelevant fact, and as such has no bearing on Sanity's convictions.

tazzygirl -> RE: NYT: Occupists Turn On Obama (12/1/2011 7:57:54 AM)

[8|] been three months of people on these boards saying the OWS doesnt support Obama, or any political party.

Moonhead -> RE: NYT: Occupists Turn On Obama (12/1/2011 8:00:25 AM)

Yep, but Sanity has no interest in reality and its nasty liberal bias. The true facts can only be located inside his head, where they're safe from any pernicious liberal distortions.

No thank you. I gave that stuff up years ago.

popeye1250 -> RE: NYT: Occupists Turn On Obama (12/1/2011 11:20:23 AM)

Wow, looks like Oblunder will have to target some more demographic groups for his "strategy."
Even the *left* are turning against him!
Let's see, he's got "Hispanics" according to his campaign people except the Cubans in Florida and the Puerto Ricans everywhere. And the "Blacks" too who have been waiting for jobs for the last three years.
Guess he doesn't want or need the Irish, Italian, German, Polish, Senior, Veteran or Independent vote.

mnottertail -> RE: NYT: Occupists Turn On Obama (12/1/2011 11:31:42 AM)

And what does any other presidential candidate have?  What is one divided by zero?

tazzygirl -> RE: NYT: Occupists Turn On Obama (12/1/2011 11:42:31 AM)

I find it amusing that they believe the shake up they see coming for Obama isnt going to touch the ground they walk upon.

MissAsylum -> RE: NYT: Occupists Turn On Obama (12/1/2011 12:52:48 PM)

This approach on the matter isn't surprising. Once there was clarity reached on what supposed side the OWS'ers are on (i.e.-none),something or somebody else would have to be blamed.

I'm not directing this at you in paticular popeye1250, you just happened to say it first.

Really the occupy wall street people do not fall to one side. As with many independents and younger people which make up the bulk of the US at the moment, their allegiance lies with the highest bidder. Who is going to collectively push the countey forward and have things be better for all of us?

Right now, nobody fits that bill.

Party affiliations mean squat in the grand scheme of things.

OWS has been about going after corruption from day 1 (check their website, it still says what it did when they first began). Obama is corrupt, therefore he's a target of Occupy. That said, there is a LOT of corruption, so he is by far not the only target.

Disagreed. There is massive support for Ron Paul within Occupy, and rightly so. He is very closely aligned with everything Occupy is saying - and he has been saying it now consistently for 35 years as a Congressman. He's not the type of guy to pander to a group, he just keeps putting out his message, and many from Occupy have heard.

MissAsylum -> RE: NYT: Occupists Turn On Obama (12/1/2011 1:02:32 PM)

Should have been more clear- my apologies. Referring to parties as a whole.

I disgree that they are backing Paul either.

Seems to be very much still in question. I have yet to see Occupy support any politician.
