Standing here and there frozen like statues was creepy-cool. Very artsy and I thought quite a powerful statement as well. Thanks for posting it.

Care to explain to me where there was any terrorism in either of your videos?

The only thing I saw were people protesting peacefully.

Edited to add that maybe I'm missing the intent of your posts.

Have their been any flash mobs done in the US?inthe name of Syria?
What were the reactions? if any?

ashjor911 -> RE: Flash Mob Torronto, Canada Strike..!! (12/6/2011 6:55:24 AM)

not yet,
but i am Betting on "the home of the free & the brave ", that would include any one who feel that way.

Marc2b -> RE: Flash Mob Torronto, Canada Strike..!! (12/6/2011 7:40:41 AM)

I wouldn't call them terroists but if the stand between me and my Orange Julius I'll call them annoying.

Okay, seriously... I'm just kiiding. I fucking hate Orange Julius'.

Okay, really seriously (really). I find protests like this to be much more effective than repetitive angry chanting. Lucy summed it up right, peaceful and understated is much more powerful than "in your face" which tends to backfire anyway.

Lucy, I'm not sure that the term "flash mob" is even appropriate here, though I know many bloggers are using it.

It is not generally used to apply to political protests.

But here is a short article on one of the reactions by the U.S..

US summons Syrian ambassador over 'protest filming

Retribution' concerns

The Syrian ambassador was summoned to the US State Department by Assistant Secretary for Diplomatic Security Eric Boswell on Wednesday, a statement said.

"We received reports that Syrian mission personnel under Ambassador Mustapha's authority have been conducting video and photographic surveillance of people participating in peaceful demonstrations in the United States," a spokesman told a White House press briefing on Friday.

"The United States government takes very seriously reports of any foreign government actions attempting to intimidate individuals in the United States who are exercising their lawful right to freedom of speech as protected by the US Constitution.

"We are also investigating reports that the Syrian government has sought retribution against Syrian family members for the actions of their relatives in the United States exercising their lawful rights in this country and will respond accordingly."
