Status: offline 		I'm kind of floored that Newt Gingrich can pass himself off as a presidential candidate. In this era of google, there is no reason for people not to know the kind of power mad, greedy, unethical SOB this guy is. Also note that Jim Cooper- Blue Dog Democrat whose been in the house for decades- credits Gingrich as the guy who basically broke Congress- it's been partisan dickermanship since he got there- and forcing him out didn't allow things to go back to working properly.

Never mind about the divorce and his first wife who was potentially terminally ill- this guy is a scumbag from the get go.

Status: offline 		But...but...he's soooo "intelligent"...so..."insightful"...and so willing to offer up "bold, new" ideas--like doing away with child labor laws.  There are just far too many jobs out there and not enough adults to fill them that we have to start hiring kids to do them.

god the man is horrendous, where are all the people crying about career politicians not being elected? wheres the new breed, the wonderful up and comers(TB Peeps) that arent tied to big money and lobbyists? nope the best man for the job is the scummiest, most paid for lackie flip flopping flunky to the corps you could wish to meet.

Or maybe David Frum is right in that Republican's liked Fox News because it gave them a platform for their views no matter how factually challenged- but now the corporation has decided that it makes more money parading idiots in front of the country and the world- and the Republicans can't do much about it. I mean really- are the Republican candidates really the best the GOP can do? That's a sad, sad, state of affairs. Or is this just their way of showing that the only guy who could possibly beat Obama is Romney- he's the best the GOPs got, so get behind him?

To me its a farce.
It will be interesting to see just who signs up for the newsmax/trump debate
Am i hoping against hope that saner minds will prevail and not attend , or is the lure of the exposure second to the idiocy?

This will allow them to be only nominally so, and fight another day in the distant future.

It was set at the outset, all theater.  The GOP is in big fuckin trouble and is floundering.

The mother of all slaughters about to befall the democrats will fill the nation with shock and awe.

my residency for voting purposes is in what will probably be a must-win swing state if the race is at all close, and there is literally not a single candidate the republicans could run, gingrich included, who would make me suck it up and vote for obama.

His license was suspended (disbarred) for 5 years in Arkansas.
They did not give a reason.

My understanding is that he doesn't need to chase ambulances to buy groceries anymore.  I doubt he bothered picking it back up in 2005.

In January 2001 Clinton reached an agreement under which he was ordered to pay $25,000 in fines to Arkansas state's bar officials and his Arkansas law license was suspended for five years.[4] The agreement came on the condition that Whitewater prosecutors would not pursue federal perjury charges against him.[5] Clinton was suspended by the Supreme Court in October 2001, and, facing disbarment from that court, Clinton resigned from the Supreme Court bar in November.

Those allegations led to the exposure of Clinton's affair with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, his 1998 impeachment by the House of Representatives and subsequent acquittal by the U.S. Senate.

As is its custom, the Supreme Court offered no explanation for the order. Court observers said such suspensions nearly always lead to permanent disbarments.

Clinton can apply to be reinstated to practice before the Supreme Court at a later date.
