I'm 49 and a closet submissive and I want to come out and my experience is very little other than me performing act's on myself. My question is how do I find the right Mistress and is there many Mistress's who will take on a newbie?

Heck, Fornica, I told him that in the other "late start" thread he started. It's the old you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink thingy.

OP, to summarize what you would read in the FAQs. Yes, there are Mistresses willing to have a relationship with a newbie. It all depends on what you both have in common and whether you like each other. However, no one knows if a Mistress willing to take on you is part of this forum. You might have to actually look further than your keyboard.
