What does anyone do when they lack the partner of their choice? They suffer. But life is about more than that so they carry on and attempt to be the best person they can be while looking for a partner. Just so you know, this answer works for dom or sub or whatever. It's all the same people. Everyone just wants someone to love and to be loved in return. If you don't have that, work on being lovable. What else {positive} can anyone do?

[;)] Otherwise, if the Dom was in a relationship with the sub, I guess s/he takes a bit of a break from relationships and after awhile starts to look again for that special someone of fill the role of sub. I'm just guessing.

I tend to go vanilla after a bad BDSM relationship. Anything that reminds me of her or "us" get's binned My sex toy collection tends to zero.
