Been thinking a lot recently about submission and personality types. I'm an ENTJ (Myers-Briggs test) female sub which is (possibly) an oxymoron as ENTJs are dominant and forceful in the main. I always seem to meet a lot of ENTJ Doms. I've just written a journal entry about it and would like to know what others think. Are there other ENTJ subs out there? (If so, I want to meet you!!) Do you have an ENTJ sub? Any ENTJ D/s couples actually made it work?

Being dominant and forceful in life matters is not mutually exclusive of being submissive in other areas.

I don't go by test labels to define myself; I just am.

I tried to fit in a box once...but the cat got pissy when she had to use it.

In my experience, the best subs are achievers (aka dominant/forceful). When they DO submit - the gift is so much more valuable. Your experience may of course be different.

I find these sorts of tests to be flawed and inconsistent, and to further box them
in by assuming which side of the kneel they should be on is rather silly.

I think there is a little ENTPENTJENFPENFJESTPESTJESFPESFJINFPINFJ
INTPINTJISTPISTJISFJISFP in all of us.

I'm not trying to fit into boxes as such. I'm fully aware that we are all much more complex than any personality test or label. However, I have found Myers-Briggs helpful to better understand myself and although far from perfect it certainly can't be dismissed as 'silly'. I'm hoping to hear other people's experiences about 'dominant women' who are also subs and learn something from them.

I'm an NTJ and waiver between E and I.

I'm always submissive sexually.

At work, it depends on the personalities involved. If people higher in rank than I don't take charge, I will diplomatically top from the bottom. I tend to be alpha with equals and dom my minions (as I should.) Overall, I'm very dominant at work.

I was in the military when I got married and we were required to take the Myers Briggs test and discuss how the results might play out in our marriage. I was the E in the relationship, and so became the social director. (It was 1987 - that's the only aspect I remember from the results analysis.)

My current guy is more E and he plans our social life.

Thanks for your input, can I ask are you only submissive sexually or are you submissive to your Dom in other ways too? Do you find it hard at times being a submissive NTJ?

LillyBoPeep -> RE: Subs and personality types (12/4/2011 8:04:41 AM)

Someone sent me a link to this and I came out as an INFJ

I thought it was accurate for me, but I also try to avoid letting things like this decide how I should or "will" behave.

Cooking and cleaning is so innate I don't consider it submissive.

When I first started educating myself about BDSM back in '97 (I'd like being tied up and rough sex previous to that) I was momentarily conflicted about being a "bad feminist" but happily got over that quickly. S&M sex makes my pussy wet; vanilla does not.

RaspberryLemon -> RE: Subs and personality types (12/4/2011 12:13:06 PM)

I'm not sure there is much of a correlation--many different types of people with many different types of personalities chose/enjoy submission, and it's obviously much more complicated than what a personality test can provide. However, I will give you my "data" nonetheless.

I am an SFP--results usually come back with me barely getting "I," and very close to "E."

I am submissive to my partner sexually and in our relationship as a whole. He's the leader, the one in charge, and I follow and obey. In other areas of my life where I interact with others, I am usually not content to be a leader or in a position of authority--I tend to operate as equals with most, but I am always opinionated, open, and assertive in all areas of my life. No one guesses that I am more content with the submissive role in a relationship unless they see me interact with my Master on a regular basis.
