In early days- the left hand was used to handle toilet paper event.[wipe] Gentlemen walked on the left- his lady on the right. When folks from 2nd floor emptied thier bedpans out the window- it then sooner soiled the man- and not the lady. Hence tophats and bonnets.

When shaking hands- the right hand is used. as the left is presumed soiled form wiping ones ass.

The word left has roots in the latin word sinistro.....sinister.....evil....bad. It was thought that being left handed was a sign of possession or evil. It was strongly discouraged and those who showed early traits of being left handed often had their left hand bound immobilizing it until they learned to compensate with the right.

I recall as a child some teachers would co-erce me to write with my left hand. a few did not.

I do many thinsg right handed- this is fun to explain when seeing a neuroligist, or drs per injuries.

I was fortunate that I had enlightened parents and teacher that never tried to force me into right handedness.  I actually only do two things with my right hand. Knitting and crocheting. I wonder how many Doms and subs are left handed. I think maybe higher than the average.

Hmmm, maybe we should start a poll on that.

I actually wipe my ass with my right hand.  I didn't realize I've been psyching people out all these years.

I don’t think the dirty left hand ass wiping thing as ever been part of western culture though it is very strong in other places where they traditionally eat with their right hands. The only reason I know of in western culture is the one mistoferin gave, apparently Mathew said the people on the left will all burn in hell with the devil. The tradition is that men always walk next to the road to protect the women from being splashed from passing carriages people usually shouted guardalou before they flung shit out of there windows so people could get out of the way. Apparently left handed people are more artistic Albrecht Dürer, Michelangelo Raphael and Leonardo da Vinci were all left handed.

I was very lucky, too, and can't remember anyone trying to coerce Me into using My right hand.  I went to a strict Catholic elementary school and was taught by nuns, too.  I've heard stories of them being very intolerant of left-handedness, but that wasn't My experience at all.  Now they warped Me in some other ways, but that's a different story.

I am actually fairly ambidextrous.  I can flog, cane, spank, paddle, etc., with either hand.  I also do lots of other things with My right hand.  If I concentrate when writing, my right-handed handwriting is even legible.

I thought it was wipe your ass with left hand, wipe left hand on toilet paper, pick nose with left hand fingers, neatly trim nails of left hand with teeth (this may go before nose picking), play with your balls with freshly manicured left hand, then your big enormous penis, masterbate thoroughly with lefty Lucie and her five daughters... and then wash your hands before shaking hands with anybody or taking a bribe.

Thats funny. I attended a Catholic school as well. They were always fundraising. The quality of education IS better then the public school [there]

--at the time- they said one day you will thank us.

I tend to question authority, and was exepelled.  Whoopz.

the folklore --is from a day- before toilet paper as we know it was invented.

I completely understand how you are concerned per handling your penis.
Thats when, really, both hands are necessary. Story of my life.....  ;-)
