Status: offline 		I'm not new to BDSM but I am very new to online communities like collarme.
The chat area is educational and I love how the submissive women take no bullshit from guys like me at all!

My question is this, why are there are a lot of profiles that appear in my area (New York City) that are just too good to be true? Gorgeous girl, shows her face, enticing description, wants to meet a Master.

My first guess was that these girls might be "professionals" looking for a sugar daddy. That's fair. My second guess was that these are men stealing pictures and creating a fake ID to try to suck naive guys into doing something dumb. That's not fair but I would not be shocked.

What I did not expect was nothing. Email messages go unopened (not deleted). The profiles sit dormant. There is no further engagement on collarme at all.

Maybe a lot of these "girls" just have no interest in me. But, it seems like these nice profiles are created with some time and effort only to be ignored by the creators from then on. Since this is a free site, it can't be a scam to get paid subscriptions.

What's this all about?

Any ideas?

Status: offline 		Its just the nature of the site. Accept it and move on to the next profile that interests you.

Also the more users, the more advertisers are wanting to use the site. Advertisments = $.

The "Introduce yourself" section is only for Introduction threads -- this does not belong here.

Anyway, the possibilities are endless --

1) Yeah, some are probably "fakes" - pros, scammers, etc.
2) Yeah, some of them probably aren't interested in you.
3) Yeah, some of them probably made profiles and then decided this wasn't for them anymore, or flaked off to Fetlife, or somewhere else altogether. Stopped paying their internet bills, got a terrible illness and landed in the hospital, blah blah blah.

You can check a profile and see when that person was last online. If it looks like that person hasn't been online in 6 months, why send a message? Do you think you're awesome enough to cause them to log in after all that time?

It's a free site. Anyone can sign up for any number of reasons. That's the nature of the beast.

Status: offline 		Yeah, they're pretty much fake profiles, usually either men, or $ whores. Click the button to hide them, to weed 'em out.
Also, there's a site www.tineye.com that will do a reverse image search, it comes in handy for pix.

Status: offline 		Welcome to CM. If a pic seems to perfect to me, I run it through TinEye. If I get multiple hits, I question the validity of the pic & profile.

Use your common sense, gut instincts and if necessary don't look for hot young things, keep your search range closer to your own age and you may be happier with the results.
And remember, there's a whole lotta threads on here that complain about fakes, scammers, etc.

Status: offline 		It can get a bit addictive..lol! I run every pic I come across through it..lol. Some browsers (I think Chrome?) have a built in app for tineye. Tres cool.

Welcome, Mazterlock! Hang in there. Lots of successful relationships have been made here among CM members. I happen to be enjoying a lovely one which likely would never have happened if it hadn't been for connecting via CM.
