The brunette has no clue. 1 in 4 children go to bed hungry every night.

That may be statically correct but in reality the numbers are much larger.
Every year an organization I am member of does “toys for tots” a sister organization
I am member of does holiday season food for handicapped, disabled and indigent children’s
families.
This year, this organization will reach over 2000 families in Florida and we fell short of
our goal by at least 1000 families. These same families send their children to bed hungry
every day all year long.

When this Nation budgets to spends millions in foreign aid they better start looking within.

Are you seriously suggesting more than one in four children go to bed hungry in the US every night, and that it is all down to overseas aid ?

Talk about wide of the mark.

I believe, and I could be wrong, Polite, that his meaning was that money could, and should, be better spent at home.

What i am saying is, first take care of our own, not wide of mark at all, in fact, its simply logical.

That in itself is fair enough. I would question your figure that more than 1 in 4 children go to bed hungry each night though.

In itself, overseas aid isnt the reason poverty exists though, inequality is.

The libs have been expressing their views through various media for years, the bastards (imagine having the gall to actually use your freedoms), but what really gets my goat is the hypocrisy! Kermit is a well known racist!

I'm a tad surprised that you omitted to mention Kermit is green from head to toe too. A through-and-through greenienazi.

Kermit is known to be an integral part of the climate change conspiracy as well as being as notorious data falsifier! His name cropped up several times in the well-known Uni. of East Anglia email scandal.

Is this a co-incidence I ask you! And please don't get me started on that pinko Cookie Monster...... [:D]

Dont mistake poverty level with hunger.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/11/18/us-usa-poverty-children-idUSTRE7AG2C920111118

1 in 5 children are living in poverty. But its more than that who go to bed hungry.

The National Income standards are here.

http://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/government/FY12_Income_Standards.htm

It is quite conceivable that a family could make just enough to not qualify, yet not have enough to feed the family.

A few years ago, someone told me that the Religious Right had mounted a big campaign to ban Sponge Bob on the grounds that he was said to be gay - and therefore an inappropriate role model for children. At the time I pooh-poohed the idea - it sounded just too stupid too paranoid for words. Surely anyone with a functional brain would be too embarrassed to get up in public and make such an absurd claim I thought ........

It now seems that I was mistaken - some ppl really are that stupid!

Oh, I agree here that overseas aid isn't the reason poverty exists, but it is one of the perpetuating factors. That is, as was stated, money that could be used to clean up our own back yard, as opposed to throwing it at the neighbours.

And, from my own experience and some of the work I do, I would agree with Arienos that 1 in 4 is a very conservative estimate. After all, that is just counting the families that were looked at, which, a lot were registered for financial aid of some sort (such as food stamps). Often ignoring the families that do not qualify for such things even though they make a ridiculously small amount and can't afford luxuries such as food. It also doesn't reflect the number of homeless youth who are just simply off the radar. And trust me, there are a LOT of them

Don't forget Jerry Fallwell's claim about the teletubbies.

Yes, Tiki Wiki and his purse. And purple to, the
most questionable of colors.
And don't forget the whole Bert and Ernie
brouhaha. A very obvious attempt to
mainstream the gay lifestyle.[8|]
These people are utterly deranged.
