QuietDragon -> Anomalies in another adult matchmaking site... (5/28/2006 2:20:03 PM)

Hi everybody,

Initially when I came across the following, I thought I ought to warn everybody on collarme about it, but then I thought that in doing so I would be exposing myself and/or collarme to undue legel scrutiny, so instead I shall not mention names, and I shall simly explain what I have noticed and let readers draw their own conclusions.

This particular adult matchmating site is heavily advertised on several of the web pages within collarme. When I joined as a "free member" I understood that I could receive e-mails, but not respond unless I paid up to become a "premium member" - the same as many other matchmaking sites.

I filled in my profile, added details in the various extras boxes, and posed a photograph. I didn't expect to receive any e-mails, but hey-ho, anything is worth a chance.

Almost immediately I started receiving e-mails, and I have received 35 or so in the past three weeks. This is more e-mails than I have ever received from any other site, EVER!

When I looked at my account's stats page, it told me that I had been sent 1 e-mail in May 2006.

The profiles attached to these e-mails always had a photo of a fairly attractive woman (but not the same woman).

Sometimes the ethnicity of the woman in the photograph was not the same as the ethnicity listed in the profile.

The photos were always semi-professionally taken; they were never fuzzy webcam captures, dodgy scans or pictures taken from a mobile phone.

The profiles always had a fairly well-written intro/bio, but never ever had any of the extra bio information filled in.

The writing style of the intro/bio was often noticeably similar, almost as if the same person had written many of them, or they had been written to some kind of formula.

Many of the profiles contained the \ character immediately before an apostrophe ('), something that happens when text data is transfered between systems, where the apostrophe is, perhaps, being converted from a correct inverted comma character.

In over half of the cases, the profile had been created in the 24 hours before I received the e-mail.

In all of the other cases, the profile had been created in 2005.

Never, not ONCE, in any of the introductory e-mails, did I get any hint that the writer had even read my profile.

I'm cancelling my profile with this site. I'll leave everybody else to draw their own conclusions.

If you notice the listings for your community on that site, each day new obvious fake profiles are going up, sometimes two different ones using the same bogus pic. It seems that site is notorious for spammers placing fake profiles to catch inputs, then refer them to a hotmail or yahoo address, then try to lure the writer to another subscription site where they 'feel safe' posting their naked pics, etc... majority of the profiles there are spammers and juveniles playing on Mom's confuser.

A few dating sites were busted for planting phonies singles- so as to boost membership/profit.

When the kids let out of school- there is an upsurge of clown activity. So expect that in the next few weeks.

We dont live in Mary Popinsland. We are pioneers of the tech revolution.  Just as carriages in the 1800s headed west=- just as the industrial revolution took off with the spinning jenny.

An exciting time to be alive-

Carriages heading west were robbed- and faced many perils. Such is tech. If the words on the screen are too upsetting- click to the next site. Or cancel your server.

Who knows- in coming years- one may need a license, inspection and insurance to ride the info highway.

We are the teck pioneers. Enjoy it.

It's amateurmatch.com, right?  Yeah, it's a phoney site.  I think Collarme should stop carrying their advertising.

Welcome to the wonderful world of advertising. Where for profit companies take money from other for profit companies for even more profit. Where people state things and depict things to generate revenue. Sorry that you fell for this but virtually everyone knows that Alt.com, Adult Friend Finder and others are full of photos of paid professional models used to entice (mostly) males into joining their sites with the promises of even better and hotter women if you buy an upgrade.
If you want to meet a nice lady (or a mean one) turn off your computer and go out into the real world and try to meet one. [:)]
