yes and no. i really liked the books, but i despised the Anthony Hopkins movies. Silence was alright, but i can't even sit through the others. my favorite of all time is Manhunter; that's what i consider the true Hannibal

so, it's about 10 last night, i'm craving Starbucks, run out to get some and have to pick up some icky cigarettes for a friend, and while i'm there the convenience store is robbed. two guys, ski masks and guns in a big red truck. they had apparently practiced, came in, took the money from the register (just a little over a thousand dollars) and then left. they didn't yell or point the guns at anybody or any crazy tv shit; they were in and out, all professional like. the clerk, who's on the verge of an asthma attack, locks the doors after they leave and calls the cops. cops say none of us are allowed to leave until they get there. so, myself, the clerk and two other people (one of them a black guy who kept pacing back and forth saying "i just wanted some damn pretzels man,") are locked inside this convenience store for almost twenty freaking minutes before the fuzz arrives. they talk to us individually and we have to sign statements and stuff and then we get to go home, the cops saying they could be in touch and yada yada. i know this is an introduction thread and not the best place for this, but i just wanted to share this story anyways. so, that was my sunday night.
