curled up on the couch beside him, being petted, while he is reading.
at his feet, nuzzling against his ankles, snoozing while he watches tv.
being excited when asked "wanna go for a ride in the car?".
patiently waiting at the bathroom door, then being told, "good girl" after doing her business.
having the radio left on and the windows open while waiting in the car while he is inside the store, and then getting excited to see him when he comes out.
already warm and snuggled in bed, and feeling him pull up the covers, telling her to move over and share or get on the floor.
at his feet, under the desk, listening to him make phone calls.
waiting by the window at just about the time he is to pull in.
meeting other collared creatures at the park, and saying hello, and watching the birds and squirrels.
wandering off, but never too far to not hear being called back
having a favorite route for walks at night together after dinner.
knowing that at the restaurant, when away from home, he will save some for me to enjoy at home in my bowl.
being given toys to play with, and sitting in my favorite spot, while his friends are over to watch the game.
smelling his pubic hair and drifting off to sleep.
knowing that she's man's best friend, and his most loyal companion.
his knowing, and appreciating, that there doesn't always have to be collars, leashes, or being down on all fours, to be thought of as his pet.
