We have directv, and the shows are still airing but they've gone off our playlist and not recording as wehad set it to do, and we didnt take them off. Any one had this problem too?

Nope.........then again I don't record anything. No TVR or whatever that thing is. Declined having one. Don't need it. Television promotes sitting on your ass. I already do too much of that.

I like DVR because then I can go "oh, I want to see that, but I also want to leave my house! Oh, record!"
Then I can watch it later. :p

I have DirecTV and I've not had that problem. Call customer service, TFTB.

Is it full? I believe they can only hold so many programs at a time.

Ohhh, I have heard my boss complain about that!

Ahh that's a possiblity -- TFTB, when you go to your DVR list, look at the bottom of the screen. There's a little bar that shows the capacity of the DVR's storage -- if it's all colored in, then it's full, and you need to delete some stuff.

If you're recording the same series, it will usually just record over episodes -- the DirecTV one can only save 5 episodes of the same show. But if you're trying to record something new and are unable to, your harddrive might be full.

I've been trained by Dish Network.  What you just mentioned is one of the most common complaints, caused by accidentally setting the View option to only view SD or HD recordings instead of both.

Hit the Directv website and I bet that it shows troubleshooting steps for various problems, including that one (Dish's site does).

If that fails, call in.

Ya.......my gym has televisions all over the place. Most of the treadmills and ellipticals also have personal televisions. And yes, I do watch them while I work out...

My only request to those around me is please, no game shows or Fox news.

I want the desk!

I have an old tv and dvd recorder set up in front of my elliptical. I watch Mash while I work out on the thing.

yes, my gym has that too.. but i need a treadmill workstation at home for when i am on my laptop.. even just standing burns more calories than sitting.. which i do too much of lately.. [>:]

I wish i had a dvr (I had one a long time ago but it crapped out on me).. to record hgtv programs and a few documentaries thats probably all i would want to actually keep (for future reference).. other shows i would just watch and delete.. I try to record online shows on my laptop but it doesnt work very well.. i need a better system [:(]

DirecTV has perhaps the worst DVR in the history of the world. I never found a solution to that problem (although I had it A LOT) except to replace them with someone competent. Sorry :(

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: Some of our programs are"unprograming" themselves (12/7/2011 5:14:33 PM)

Nope our box is not full. not even close to it. and if it was full then the way we have it set up, certain programs are keep until I delete and that way the box does not make them go poof once it's full,, unlike the shows set at delete when box is full. And even then the program would be there, it just wouldn't be recording, but we had to re add the program, it just poofed from the line up.

I will call direct tv and ask them about it, though in general their customer service and tech help suck.

Once I got hooked into direct tv I wish I had gone back to dish. I do agree diretc's box sucked.
