kalikshama -> Join Elizabeth's Call for Wall Street Accountability (12/8/2011 10:36:04 AM)

Thoughts?

To overcome Wall Street's armies of lobbyists and make sure everyone follows the law, we must take some key steps:

- The Senate must confirm Richard Cordray as director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
- Our state Attorneys General and federal enforcement officials must investigate the illegal actions that broke the economy and, when evidence warrants, prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.
- Congress must stop the late-night budget tricks designed to weaken agencies responsible for enforcing the laws.

Stand with Elizabeth Warren and fellow supporters in demanding Wall Street accountability by using the form to the right.

Crossroads GPS, the conservative outside group devised by Karl Rove, has unleashed more than $1 million in attack ads targeting three vulnerable incumbent Democratic senators and one Senate hopeful.

...But the biggest buy is saved for Massachusetts, where Crossroads has made Democrat Elizabeth Warren a top target of its 2012 election efforts. The group will spend $524,000 to undercut Warren in December.

Wishful thinking I am afraid. Of course you are correct in reflecting the majority view of the people but that doesn't count anymore.

What counts is a profit, as much profit as possible, leveraging (gambling) others money and making even more money. If it all blows up, while the capitalist gets the profits and bonuses, the taxpayer takes the risk and all of the while...they pay only 15% fed. tax on gains and interests.

It's the great values [sic] of the great American free-enterprise [sic] system.

Innovation on wall street is defined as coming up with a new piece of paper on which to obtain a bullshit AAA rating and selling them to unsuspecting buyers.

All we know is that they just can't use meaningless mortgages anymore. Oh but you can have full faith in what they want to sell you know.

This sounds FAMILIAR

LOL!!! Elizabeth Warren calling for Wall Street accountability is like Fred Phelps calling on his followers to be reasonable.

I'm always amazed at how any rationally thinking adult could support such an abomination. Let's support another lawyer, that is 100% solely responsible for managing all the TARP funds, to fix WS. As the Guinness commercials say... BRILLIANT!

Please tell me where I can get this kool-aid, because I wanna get messed up this weekend too!

AnEquinox -> RE: Join Elizabeth's Call for Wall Street Accountability (12/8/2011 4:44:40 PM)

I understand some cynicism, but I think Elizabeth Warren will be a really important test as to whether we can stand up to big money.

I'm giving Elizabeth $10 a month. If lots of little people come together, we can stand up to the big guys!

That`s why we make laws and enforce them.

It was never a voluntary system till loser bush was in charge.

I hear she`s beating her republican wall street-ass-licking opponent in the polls.

FR

I would hate to see this board turn into endless solicitations for anybody, whether its Rep, Dem, Libertarian or Paulie.

Check this out. His current commercial uses the catch phrase "creating jobs" about a dozen times. And it's supported with TOTALLY STOCK footage of carpenters framing houses, etc. Well please let me share with you. There isn't a house being built within 10 miles of me and I live a three minute jog from the beach on one of the most desirable coastal areas in Massachusetts. And the question is being asked ALL OVER MASSACHUSETTS "WHERE THE FUCK ARE THESE JOBS?"
Where they are is on his RE-ELECTION  STAFF. Not ONE realjob can be attributed to this Anti-Kerry-Bomb since the day he took office, UNLESS HE HIRED THEM PERSONALLY.

You mean like all those months you spent diving into the tank for your fantasy-league Romney-Rubio ticket... If I had a ten for every time you've blathered on and on about those two, I could buy a fucking Audi.

Who fucking cares about donations? I am just sick of hearing about your business slouch candidate who can't get elected to anything without a token minority on the ticket.

If you dont fucking care about donations why hijack the thread to whine and make racist comments in response to a post about soliciting donations?

Very emotionally charged today, aren't we? Guess that's the mentality you need in order to support Elizabeth Warren.

FYI: I work full time and am completely self sufficient. This is what you're able to do when you accept personal responsibility and have a little work ethic; instead of simply claiming "I HAVE A RIGHT TO EVERYTHING" and then voting in a bunch of socialists on the basis that they will fulfill this lefty pipe-dream. Hmmm...sounds like you and Elizabeth Warren! Keep trying!

Theres a big difference between Stern and Elizabeth Warren. He's never published any false/misleading papers.

Owner59 -> RE: Join Elizabeth's Call for Wall Street Accountability (12/8/2011 5:26:43 PM)

She`s beating the corporate whore in the polls right now.

Sure election day is a while away but she is ahead.

Are all those folks emotionally charged too or just fed up with corporate welfare?
