The only mystery to me is why that 1-2% are tolerated and even protected by the vast majority of their coworkers. And of course, since police are given special authority, they are held to higher standards. Governments using people to turn mass demonstrations violent is a tried and true tactic that has been used for many decades, maybe longer. It allows the government to discredit the protestors and halt their message. Now that Homeland Security is coordinating the response of dozens of local police agencies to the OWS movement, one has to wonder if these policies are not just local, but national.

I don't know about that. When the lawless republican goon and thug hurled his mother down the steep rock staircase to an almost certain death after a listening to a night of Ronald Reagans words, that seemed pretty brain damaged to me. And then there was that guy who could not recognize an american flag, I can only conjecture it is due to brain damage. And the fellow that compared the gulf oil spill to a coke can on a football field, that was certainly brain damage that affected his perception. There is more, of course, but we will rest there for the moment.
