I have to agree with Poise on this. Though I know others the only song she sings that I really like is Nothing Compares To You. A large part of that is because the song was written by Prince and I know who he wrote it for.

He actually wrote the song for his grandmother after she died. He added things to it later to make it sound like a love song when he recorded it and is the only version of the song most people have ever heard.

There's an interview with O'Connor stating that he threw a tantrum about her covering the song off her own bat, instead of doing it under his beck and call a la Vanity/Carmen Electra/The Family. Maybe she mentions where she heard it there? (I think it was originally recorded by The Family, not Prince himself...) "Lagen Love" is a cover as well. It's an old Irish folk song. Steeleye Span and Kate Bush have both done versions of it as well...

"Mandinka" was one of my favourites from the lion and the cobra and also "I want your" "I do not want what I havent got" is one of my all time favourite albums I love her voice, her songs got me thru some wicked evil times I lost track of her once I had been in canada for a few years tho.

Im not even sure I was around for that 3rd one Moon, I moved and had babies n all that adult shit to deal with..lol I know her kid is a year older than mine. I only had the cassettes at the time, then bought the two cds while in canada when my second one was walking, LMAO I measure those years by the kids... had my hands full.

I dislike her myself, in part perhaps because when any male student got a tight haircut in the early 90's in secondary school in Ireland he was instantly called Sinead! [:D] Her ex-"man friend", John Waters lives near me. He's a fairly controversial journalist. They have a daughter which he looks after.
