Well, I suppose I'd better start somewhere. I'm Sado. I'll share my IRL name if someone swaps in PM, but otherwise feel a little anonymity is good for these sites. I've been pranked before and don't want a raging mob on my front doorstep. :) I've been interested in the scene for many years but haven't chased down a sub deliberately for various reasons. Decided to do so now due to two past failed relationships. I'm open for Interested ladies, curious people and plain Just Friends as well as a possible mentor. Just make sure you tell me which you are.

Although I do not know how or why it was originated, my experience with BDSM began in the early 90's on IRC (Internet Relay Chat), where the common convention and house rules of many BDSM and related channels was to use Proper Caps/lowercase in deference and respect (and to help differentiate dominants from submissives) when everything was plain text only--not even pictures. The S/slashy style of speak was when one did not know if they were speaking to a dom or sub, or a whole room (the term channel was used more, however) which had both present. Any explanation beyond that is something I have no knowledge about, however. Since I've recently returned to the scene it seems this is not such a common convention anymore, but I still do it at times due to many years of habit.
