ZaDominuBG -> Change usarname (nickname) (12/11/2011 5:13:29 AM)

Is there any possibility to change my nickname somehow ? Can moderators do that for me, for example ? I am veteran on this site, I think since 2007 I am here, Im not sure, but I would like change my nickname. THanks in advance for answer.

xxblushesxx -> RE: Change usarname (nickname) (12/11/2011 7:24:27 AM)

No. (from what I've read in the past) You just need to make a new profile.

ZaDominuBG -> RE: Change usarname (nickname) (12/11/2011 10:22:17 AM)

:(( Than nothing, I will continue with this one. Thank you Mistress for answer.

xxblushesxx -> RE: Change usarname (nickname) (12/11/2011 1:34:45 PM)

Why not change to the name you want and just re-direct your friends to the new one?

ZaDominuBG -> RE: Change usarname (nickname) (12/11/2011 5:05:12 PM)

Because when someone enter in profile and see when I registered on this forum, he/she will see that new profile is made in close history, and because of a lot of fakes and etc. people simple dont have trust in newest profiles, and when someone enter in my profile at this moment, he/she will see that I am member since 2007, and it means that I am not someone who steal profile to make spam or etc. Sorry for english, it isnt my mother tongue, but I hope you get point :)

xxblushesxx -> RE: Change usarname (nickname) (12/12/2011 5:54:43 AM)

Ok, now you sound like Elaine from the Seinfeld episode when she didn't want her new number because it would make her look like she'd only been living there a short time. I understand what you're saying but honestly there are many fakes who have been here a long time, and many new members who are as real as they come.

ZaDominuBG -> RE: Change usarname (nickname) (12/12/2011 7:50:24 AM)

You have right :) as always Mistress has rights :D

Fornica -> RE: Change usarname (nickname) (12/12/2011 12:49:41 PM)

I loved that one, Mistress.

I give you permission to change your nic to anything you'd like.

Go ahead....really.

TheLilSquaw -> RE: Change usarname (nickname) (6/5/2013 4:27:57 PM)

So why not create a new profile and IF you are so inclined put in it that you decided to make a new profile in order to change your name from ZaDominuBG. If you want to explain why do so.

Leave this profile up but take everything out and in the text put something like "I have created a new name and profile with the name (new name) please contact me there. I will be deleting this profile. "

You could also email those you contact under this name and let them know prior that you are creating a new profile.

Then delete this one.

I'm not sure if a user name change will ever be an option here, but in the meantime, why not create
the new account with your much preferred user name, and make mention of this previous account, so
your history is still reflected?

***As you can see, TheLilSquaw has very talented feet, as she posted the same advice, only much faster than I! [;)]

mnottertail -> RE: Change usarname (nickname) (6/6/2013 5:29:40 AM)

Being a long time computer programmer, OP, your answer is no.  Mods, or admin or even the original programmers cannot change your nick.  Your account is keyed on your nick not a native key, and the changes would be fuckin near every file in this site, they do it for you, they do it for all........a real pain in the ass.  That's why, someone leaves the site, and deletes their account and occasionally (real occasionally) someone happens to take up the same nick and are astonished that they have a posting history.

Although, you donate a million cash to the site, I bet they are on that like a slave gobbling cock.......and you will have any fuckin nick you want, even if it is already taken.

Just sayin.

TheLilSquaw -> RE: Change usarname (nickname) (6/6/2013 5:46:55 AM)

As a side note, I would personally love if CollarMe made it easier to change your nick.
I like how fet allows you to change your nick but only allows you to do so 1x every 30 days.

My nick is different there , heck it's not LS any where now other than here. I don't want to make a new profile here or loose my lovely Sweet Feet tag on the forums. Lol

mnottertail -> RE: Change usarname (nickname) (6/6/2013 8:27:13 AM)

I assume it is a later software and contains native key access to the file, now I wonder if two names can coexist?  I doubt it, I am sure that is an alt(unique) key.

I believe you are mistaken.

At any rate, it's trivial to do so in any reasonably current forum software. User accounts are not keyed to a nickname, they're keyed to an account number. The viewable nickname is an editable field just any other profile parameter. Most forums lock out edits to that field from users to prevent abuse, but admins will can change it if they wish to. It's just one more reason to use software that isn't as old as the dinosaurs.

I don't think anyone should be able to change their nick once a month, that's ridiculous (not saying that is what you did). Can you imagine the people here who would do that figuring we wouldn't recognize them? It would be impossible to try to get a "feel" for anyone because we would constantly be trying to figure out who the hell they were. <mini rant over>

I really identify with my dominant side more now, and this nick was geographically specific, but isn't anymore. I have a second profile that is not "switch" but dominant (although I still picked a geographically specific name, still haven't learned, lol). I don't use it to post here because....I don't want to lose my paddles! It isn't a sock because I don't use it to post here. I've just accepted the no switching, agree to a point and don't really concentrate on it.

I agree, I would NEVER change my nick even there every month.
However, sometimes nicks simply don't fit, you realize you spelled it incorrectly, or that you simply want or need a change so being able to change it is wonderful. When you change your nick there, it still links you to the stuff you posted under the old nick.

I've thought about doing that. Creating a new profile with the nick I use else where, hiding this one and only using this one for the forums. Like you I don't want to loose my paddles or the tag above them. However, that is another email / profile I would have to check and I'm not feeling that. Lol
