What a wacky story --

Paralyzed Woman Makes Miraculous Recovery After Freak Accident

A woman who was paralyzed from the hips down since the age of 13, who won a silver medal for hand cycling in the 2008 Paralympics, collides with another cyclist while training for the upcoming Paralympics, and now finds herself able to walk and ride a bike. She's training for the 2016 Olympics as a cyclist.

Bananas. ^_^

Wow. My business partner is a quad, after being injured in a football came in high school. His is a spinal cord injury, though, and I notice this woman's paralysis was caused by nerve damage.

Yeah, I imagine the type of injury has a lot to do with it.

The doctors were speculating that the new injury caused her body to "jump start" and repair the old damage, too. Interesting stuff.

My father's paraplegic. While the incident that caused it was obvious, doctors couldn't find the damage in his body that actually caused it... Maybe I should try rolling him down a steep hill : ) Reminds me of those cartons where someone gets hit in the head and gets amnesia or a personality shift, and the way they always cure it is by hitting them in the head again.

I also had a former partner who was injured in an accident and became a quad. When the accident happened, I remember our office manager got us a movie to watch about spinal cord injuries. Apparently, they are making lots of progress in coming up with a way to aid the spine in repairing itself. The research is being hampered because of the obstacles to stem cell research.

That's NOTHING!!!!!

Two weeks ago I had 3 double Crown Royals, I feel off my bar stool and I realized....I could have another drink just as easily right where I was!

Now, maybe it's not a miracle...but it sure as shit is enlightened!
