...that I dread.

Before, after Christmas and around tax refund time.  I get a series of wrong numbers called in.  I am patient and try to help the people out but usually they are calling the store or Tech Support.  I give them the right number but this has been going on for years.

I am not freaking Best Buy, people!!!!

I think Best Buy need to put the correct numbers on the receipts.

Oy voy...

another reason I'm glad I don't have a landline.

I'm lucky if I get two phone calls a day even on my cell and both from Master lol.

Answer "Joe's Pizza" and get them really confused?

Call Best Buy and complain, they might give you some sort of credit or gift by way of apology.

Find out the store manager's name.  Look'em up in the directory and call forward your phone to their house.

I wish it was that simple, RS.  I don't think we have call forwarding but that is a wicked idea.

Most of the time, I don't mind the calls but when it is a Spanish speaker, its hard to translate.

Take their order for the 85in plasma tv then forget about it.

Ya, I would.

When I first started working where I am now, there were two businesses who's phone numbers were very close to ours. One was an auto parts store and another a medical supply and assistance hospice type of dealio. Oh the calls we would get......so much fun.

Once, I had an old guy call about his wheel chair. After I explained to him that he'd dialed the wrong number he started visiting with me because I was so nice to him and because he was house bound he was lonely. Just a sweetheart of a guy. I told him to call back any time. He would on occasion and just brighten my day. Then he disappeared...

Then the auto parts store closed and the other place must have either closed or switched number. More recently a KFC had a similar number and I got the occasional calls for that. Not nearly as much fun as the medicalish place one.

The phone number at my last place was one digit off from a local Quest Diagnostics. I would give callers the right number but for some reason, my housemate would not.

I removed the phone from the kitchen, leaving the landline just in her room, and tuned it out. (I've been cell only for years.)
