LafayetteLady -> RE: Muggers With a Fake Gun Thwarted by Polyamorous Inwood Family (12/14/2011 5:01:55 PM)

I honestly don't see them being poly making a damn bit of difference in this story at all. They mention not only that the almost victims were poly, but also that they were white and refused to identify black suspects. Honestly, beyond the stupidity of using a fake gun and getting caught, the other information was just trying to get a response from readers (not on the part of the OP, but on the author of the article). The author could have just as easily said, "a man and two women walking through the park," as their love life is irrelevant to the event. Same with "we were three white people about to identify blacks." There is no logical reason why the author couldn't have simply said, "when the victims were presented with possible suspects, they were unable to conclusively identify anyone." It is almost as though the author intentionally wanted to minimize the attempted mugging and talk about the victims personal life and create racial issues where none exist.
