Deal, although I prefer, um, free diving.

Now I have the mad desire for a netbook.

Don't get me wrong, the chances of my *actually spending money on a netbook* are slim to none. And my android smartphone does me just fine. But now I am all hot to research netbooks, just like I was all hot to research Kindles. I find the thing, I add it to the list, I look at the thing.

There is a startling array of things ACTUALLY SOLD VIA AMAZON, which to me is the entire point. I know where to find the yarn at yarn shops, etc. That such an odd array of things can be drop shipped, well it just reminds me of the old department stores. Remember those? Ours was J. L. Hudson, later to die at the hands of Marshall Field's and Macy's. Harrod's gave me a total Hudson's flashback. Anyway.

Why does a monster site have SUCH a search engine of suck and fail? I WANT DOC MARTENS, I should be able to say "womens doc martens" and see every freakin pair. No. I get to find them in the "others looked at" category, or on some other entirely different search. Internet shopping is supposed to be CONVENIENT, not a crazyazz Marshall's "where are the floor length skirts" kind of hunt. GAH!

On the shopping front, I scored a barely used HP netbook on ebay for $200.

I am loving it! It's my own little shopping fantasyland. I just added two pairs of fabulous Doc Marten boots--oxblood! stiletto heels! Of course I could never wear the tall shaft ones with my legs, but I can look at the pictures and sigh.

It helps at the library, too, when I can't remember what I was looking for (thank you android) and when I am building that dvd collection that I will never bother with because I so rarely watch them. But all those ballets, and David Attenborough things, and the Tremors box set! My BFF's and I use our lists for birthday shopping, too.

Sometimes I think I should add outrageous things to the list, but I try to keep it within reason. Sometimes I treat myself, I got THREE books this summer! Hardcovers!

Does anyone else have their personal wish list somewhere, that they look at at ponder? What's on yours?

I'm a member of the penis club, so I can't actually do this, but....if you could add to your list (if you don't mind....I can offer a 10% bonus):

6 cartons of Marlboro soft pack

12 months of cable and high speed internet

5 blow jobs (I'll let the sender know when I need them, and where....I'm not entirely particular if the lights are out and a video of Pamela Anderson is on and they smell good)

My car cleaned (inside and out)

Wax on/wax off (on the car)

Pressure washing of the driveway and entry

That should cover my needs for now....

LadyH, have you tried Zappos when shoe shopping online ? They have a great site and are unbelievably fun to do bidniss wif. You can return or exchange your purchase for up to ONE YEAR , facrissakes. If you don't like the color in the sunlight, the fit or you just feel like being a cunt, well, back they go, and THEY pay the shipping. Big selection too. Happy shopping !

I also like 6pm.com, also. Though you have to freakin COMPARISON SHOP since the clearance site has things at higher prices sometimes!

Shoes through the mail are tricky unless you really know the brand, and sometimes not even then. Fun to look, though!

Lizard has a HP netbook that Bo got her a couple of years ago. I am surprised it has lasted this long...
