I'm sure certain cons here will declare Colonel Wilkerson to be both not a Republican and not a real soldier but maybe it will get through to one or two.

I am so glad to see this "war" finally ending.

I was for the war, early on, when I knew that Saddam Hussein had WMDs that we had sold him (our last shipment of APMs was on 01 August, 1990).

The stated mission was to find and remove/destroy WMDs and remove Saddam Hussein from power. Once we removed him and we had pretty much already established that we weren't going to find the WMDs (which is the most troubl e ing issue for me: Who has them, now?), suddenly, the mission changed and we became embroiled in "empire building".

It is none of our business what kind of government a country has as long as they don't mess with us. The idea that we had to stick around long enough to make sure that Iraqis had a "democratic" government is pure, undiluted, bullshit! It's none of our business.

Anyway, I commend President Obama for (finally) keeping one of his campaign promises (sorry but, I do question the timing since candidate Obama said that ending the war in Iraq would be one of his first priorities).

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Does that make it untrue?

Don't blame me, I voted for Gary Johnson.
