"Domestic Enemies" of the Constitution include the US Companies who are selling little boys to Afghan Police to be their sex slaves and the US Legislators who support them.

He obeyed his oath.

Or don't you think "Child Sex Traffic" is as important as Terrorism?

And the legal basis for his actions is "The Whistleblower Protection Act" of 1989...

If he was unaware of the Dyncorp actions at the time he released the data, it's pretty tough to use it as a defense of his actions. This why what he knew and didn't know prior to releasing the data becomes important - it goes towards motive.

Also, if a particular piece of information he considered to be part of an illegal cover up by his superiors, that still would not justify his releasing 250,000 documents. Likely, he would be absolved on one count and then convicted on 249,999 counts.

The soviets fought and beat the nazis....doesn`t make them saints.

Sex trafficking aside,if the guy did something illegal and can`t reasonably be called a whistle-blower,he should go to jail.....period.

I would tie the noise myself if he got the death penalty.

I love seeing people come up and stand up for the rights of child molesters to keep their international smuggling operations secret...

Personally, I think they ought to have treason on the charges list, with the death penalty on the table, but it is what it is.

yeh?

Tthe U.S. Constitution defines treason: in Article III, Section 3, Clause 1, “Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, (or) in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.”   The most recent case decisions involving treason; Cramer v. United States, Haupt v. United States and Kawakita v. United States, all dating back to WWII.

So are you an american rich?  LOL

Why is your dick so hard over this?

the gubafia did comit treason when they changed our government without our permission, 3 times now and counting.

Mr. Manning swore to the following..

I, Bradley Manning, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

He broke his sworn contract and deserves the penalties his crime entails.

Nice one!

Where in the constitution does it say the military or any corporatocracy has any authority deal in slavery?  Sex slavery no less?

No matter how hard I try to stretch my brain I just cant seem to pull that out of it.

You need to go to the supreme court if you want an interpretation that has no support in the constitution.  They will cya!

How do you or anyone outside of the command structure know what action was planned on the information he leaked? That goes for any of the information he leaked...Hell... information has to be gathered analyzed and transmitted to the appropriate authority for action. Just because information is there does not assign blame to the reporting authority.

You and your like just arbitrarily decided who is to blame without any evidence at all…yea real fair…damn fanatics.

When the NY Times found out about it, the gov shut down the website.

How F'ed up is this.

Defending this guy on the basis of accidentally releasing info on Dyncorp is exactly like defending a serial rapist on the basis that one of his victims was a neglectful mother.

Pathetic.

I believe that when it comes to child sex slavery, the ends justify the means in stopping it.

And the US Government provides many examples of that justification.

You just want to defend him because you hate the war, soldiers, Rs, the country, whatever, and this is something to hang your hat on.

I would certainly argue for mercy if the DynCorp stuff was all he released.

But, hell, it was, what, one millionth of one percent, and an accident at that?

Limp.

So if all he released had been the DynCorp material you would argue for mercy?
WTF....I would be demanding a fucking medal
Treason is as off the mark and unwarrented as trying to make a case for him receiving a promotion due to his actions. The man did not commit treason....plain and simple.
