Today is my birthday. Here at home few will remember it. One or two might acknowlege it. My boss thought he might take me to lunch but then passed on it when one of his buddies invited him to have lunch.
This is pretty much a non day leading to a non week for me. For the first time in a long time I can't seem control the sadness about being disregarded so consistantly.
So please if you stop by, wish me a good day.

Happy birthday, hon!! *hugs*

(it sucks having a b'day so close to a holiday - thus speaks the voice of firsthand knowledge...)

Really? I thought the "Snort" screen name (in conjuction with the thread's title) was a dead giveaway. Oh well, Happy Birthday to whoever's birthday it is.

(and happy birthday to you Greedy when the time comes).

It's cutstring's b'day. I don't know who Snort is (although, I do understand the confusion!) and Thanks!

Happy Birthday.
And yes, having a birthday this close to the holidays is awful.

Alright Cutty dear, first things first. Sung to the tune of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas:

Have yourself a happy little birthday
Toss your cares aside
Find a way to have some fun and go outside....

Secondly, I'm seeing a big pattern here; "...few will remember...one or two might acknowledge it...then passed on it...a non-day leading...can't seem control the sadness about being disregarded so consistantly..."

Now I do not know you, and may be completely off base here. What I see is someone (who not unlike my past self) may lack awareness of how much their mindset, and lack of social skills, might contribute to your present situation mental and emotional situation.

If that is the case, the remedy will be found in making inquiry into what you're doing to create this, and professionals may be a supportive option.

The world can look pretty bleak and hopeless when we are unconscious of the part(s) we play in this regard, and will nearly ALWAYS be reflected in our external experiences with other humans, as they can only mirror on the outside, what foments on our inside.

Questions I would ask myself, in your position:

1. Did I have a safe, supportive and nourishing mental, emotional, physical network from my family of origin, and if not,
did I later create my own?

2. Did/do I have trouble connecting/communicating with people?

3. Did/do I seem to have difficulty making/keeping friends?

4. Am I often alone, feeling lonely and/or unfulfilled?

5. Do I often feel disregarded, unappreciated, unrecognized, unaccepted?

If so, some of these are important clues perhaps indicating you (and I) were not particularly well socialized and/or skilled in creating/maintaing healthy identities, self-images, world views and relationships, none of which is insurmountable.

First, I second what Duskypearls said.

Secondly, how 'bout this as a first-rate-almost-Christmas b'day cake?

WAIT!  Isn't that supposed to be "First cake.  Seconding comes 2nd."?

Hope you can get a smile out of all these good wishes.  If not, just think, "Why is that HUNKY, gay Dominant perving my profile?  Especially since the only true thing I wrote in there is that my age is 99?"

LOL!
