Higuysitsme...

Yes! I am definitely stateside, and proud waver of the red, white, and blue! (Smiles)

As for when you are new, I agree. I was so deluged with email, I could barely get to the top of the pile for fresh air! (lol) However, I just read my mail at my own pace, tried to respond nicely to the ones that were nice, and deleted the obnoxious ones. (I found there are some very nice submissives on this site, even if our interests weren't the same.)

Anyone who wanted to chat on Yahoo that I hadn't spoken to several times first, I did not share my address with. (I'm not sure how many people realize that Yahoo shows your first and last real name, which doesn't set well with me!!)

I guess each of us needs to do what we feel is right for us, and makes us feel the most secure.

Hidden profiles can send emails on this site, so there's zero reason to move off site...unless you are comfy doing so.
As that is the case, sounds fake to moi...

I've only wanted to move emailing off site when the volume of email is high, we're hitting it off, and making plans to meet IRL.

I have a different sort of opinion... If she messages you with an email in a message that doesn't look like a cut and paste (something that seems particularly written to you), I don't see the harm in answering her at her email.  I know a number of women who have had it up to *here* with the beginning back and forth and want to get to a point where real contact is made.

Things that should set off your radar:  any asking for fundage or any mention of money, any mention of gifts, tribute or other things where you are expected to pay, requests for photos (particularly of your genetalia/with a face),  or anything where you feel like one of a herd...

But if the message connects, follow it.

Casteele -> RE: Email request (1/1/2012 6:42:13 PM)

While this is an old thread (almost two weeks old.. ancient history here :-P), for the benefit of all.. There are many email service providers out there, and many of them are free, if you don't mind getting their occasional ads and such via banners or even email ads. There are even some anonymous email senders and disposable email providers (you typically specify how long the email account lasts when you sign up, such as 24 hours, a week, a month, etc). Although with the options available on CM to hide your account, block people, etc, I do not see as much need here to do much more--If someone wants to go outside of the options CM provides such as an email address outside of CM's control.. Well, ask why they might want to use email that CM cannot control.. The only answer I can think of is.. CM cannot control it. Something the spammers, scammers, stalkers, and general undesirables want, so it's something use genuine folks do not want.
