I'm sure somebody has done it.
I'd think there would be some risk of infection.
And, one has be very careful not to hammer a nail through the testicle.
Sounds kind of risky.

Needles seem to be the limit of what you can safely stick into balls. Even the thin nails would still leave a pretty serious wound in your sub. I applaud you for being hardcore, though.

Yep. BTDT. Couple six times as a matter of fact.

Board fully on bench, running along its length. NOT cross-wise, 'K? NOT a padded bench - board as stable as can be, you see?
Sub, one leg to each side. First time out use small nails, but NOT tacks. Clean carefully with Cavicide or equivalent.

There MUST be trust established in previous experiences.... DUH!

Best if he gets to do first "go round." You get to watch and take notes. Pinch skin, hold pinched skin with nail. Totally vertical!!! Hammer MUST hit HARD and totally dead on. Think of missing - ouch! Two to each side (total of 4.) SUB gets to pull nails. Band-aid technique. One quick firm YANK with hammer.

You will be surprised at how little blood. Cool, clean wet cloth with only small amount of water to wipe sac. Bleeding should stop fairly quickly.

Your milage WILL vary as to healing time. Scars? Probably not.

Yes and it's not rocket science, first of all try to get nails which don't have nickel content, that is a bit of a challenge but you can find them in some DIY stores, if you come up with a good excuse as to why you need them, let me know, because when they asked me my reply was "Uhhh errr, well, to be honest none of you business". Now I am not sure if the nickle free is a requirement but while I do like edge play, I also try to eliminate all the risks I can eliminate.

Personally I would recommend that the balls are clean shaven, so you get a good shot, they are also easier to disinfect, as Lance mentioned, disinfecting really is the key.

Then make sure you only hammer the skin (and also not your finger or a testicle), I would recommend practising first just hammering nails into a board and then graduating to practise with a small fabric bag in which you put 2 eggs, don't do it until you can hammer that bag to a board without breaking an egg or even better, use 2 balloons and fill them with water and put them into a fabric bag. Thin nail especially if it's your first time, later on and if you're used to doing it, you can use a big nail for an added mind fuck. The guys all assured me that it's actually not as painful as it sounds but it's the mindfuck and the fear that does it. Personally I like using it as predicament bondage, it's quite effective ;-)
As Lance mentioned, really not that much blood, similar to a play piercing on a nipple.

And you base this on what? You ever saw a nail? I can tell you that a well placed nail through the scrotum (NOT the testicle) will leave hardly a wound, and a hell lot less blood than just your average rough sex will leave - do you applaud everybody for being hardcore who doesn't have gentle and cuddly sex all the time?

What concerns me is this. Having had a variety of differing wood splinters over the years & seen the festering mess they cause especially hardwoods such as Oak I worry about taking even a small ammount back into the wound upon withdrawal.

NEVER had a problem with splinters..... don't make them to begin with! STRAIGHT shot in - I like to hit the nail a second time for mind-fuck.... might even say "Oh, shit" after first even thougn it's in good and solid.

ETA: To answer concern regarding splinters: Squeeze a little blood.

Like any other "play" piercing you are going to "go clean." RACK stands for Risk Aware Consensual Kink, right? Sure, one can create a sterile field, but as soon as you expose your field to the non-sterile air, you're not sterile anymore. Catheter play is a great example. Cath kits come nice and sterile. The best you can do is clean tip-o-dick and insert an almost sterile tube.

Do you worry about injections - flu shots and the like? Risk is about the same.

Not explaining myself well in that case lance. As you pull the nails out of the wood you are going to take matter back into an open wound. as most timber is chemically treated these days then I am just a little leery about it.

I know what you mean, Niney, that sort of thing is why I shriek when I see folks staple through tape.

And I am seconding Lance that I've never had or heard of problems. I do make sure to first aid as for a puncture wound.

I've used 16 ga 6 inch needles both through the sack & the shaft of the cock...but that was a pretty hardcore pain slut...

Agree with the needles (although I've only used 21's and 23's!) and hard-backed foam boards so that the sac can look like a pinned butterfly; smooth entry, easy exit, no splinters, and no hammers!

Just a side safety note to add. If you are doing any piercing or puncture play you might want to make sure you have had a recent tetanus shot (most are good for 10 years now).

First off, you are not going to go through the testicle. The scrotum is incredibly stretchy and the testicles are going to be well out of the way before the hammer ever hits home.
I use a nylon chopping board which is already secured to a small stable work bench. Stainless steel nails (oval wire brads) autoclave or hot oven cleaned.
Injection wipe to the area before being pierced. Dry cotton unwoven medical gauze after the nails are out but do let the wound bleed if its willing as blood cleans out a wound.
It is going to leave a hole more than a cannula because its going to be around 8g to 6g and the ones I have done have left small scars but nothing that stand out unless you were really looking carefully.
The biggest temptation after, is for the recipient to feel his scrotum. Make sure he has thoroughly washed his hands and make sure he knows to wash his hands thoroughly for the next few days before touching himself.
