Cat vs. Dog: Trick Contest

This is a really tough call, and even though cats are pretty tough to train at....well....anything....I'm gonna give the win to the dog.

much as I hate to say, I agree. the typical tricks just flowed more naturally from the dog. But I sure woulda liked to seen the dog stand all 4 feet on one human foot like the cat did! LMAO!!

Kaiser was just humoring her human, Nana is a suck-up (but a cute suck -up, to be sure)!! Although I must say Nana's "handstand" walking was pretty impressive!

Can you imagine the time spent to get either of them that trained??

I have to agree that the dog was more precise in performing each trick. But bear in mind, the dog was a ringer. Border collies are the most trainable breed out there. I don't know that the competition would have gone that way with, say....a beagle?

If you look at the address of the video, it's an example of clicker training. I've seen amazing and rapid results with that method, so training those two probably didn't take as long as one might think, possibly under a week.

Border Collie is a ringer and cats are notoriously hard to train, so I go with the cat.

I want to vote for the cat, but I give it to Nana for her sheer enthusiasm!

I think they are both winners.

Well...I have some idea...2007, pepper was about 5 months old, I tried to train her to "sit" as otherwise she wont get her treat...there was no chance she would "get it" until I gave up some weeks later...she is awful about her treats and regularly pushes her claws in my legs whilst I open it as she has no patience in that matter...seems she starved to death in an earlier life and hasn't forgotten about that

Recently I tried to give her dog treats instead...with beef...well...she disagreed and was having none of those...so I give them to my neighbour who has 2 dogs

She knows what she wants and doesn't back much down from it...

I cooled her off from her addiction to them but sadly started it recently again...have to get her off again from it and damn leave her off it...those producers know what to put in to make her scream at you daily as she requests it no matter if I have it at home or not
