If this one doesn't break the cute-o-meter, nothing will!

I think that just about made up for the story I read yesterday about a man who took his 9-month old kitten to a Humane Society for vet care after being cut and instead of treating the poor animal, they put it to sleep.

Oh, my. That is wrong on so many levels I don't know where to start. $400? For what, exactly? If there were no vets available anyway, what were they charging for?  No one could come up with a few dollars for antibiotics and first-aid type care until the promised  money arrived? If the poor guy had taken the kitten to a regular vet he would have had a better chance of finding someone who would help him. According to the AVMA, it's unethical to refuse at least basic care to an animal that is brought in to a facility seeking help. AND to top it all off they LIED to him. I wouldn't withhold donations, but they sure need some housecleaning of the staff.

Simple fact, the Humane Society is/was/and always will be a "kill shelter".  We don't have an ASPCA in this area, or I would support them-they are not a "kill shelter".  Neither is ANNA Shelter, but I think that organization is just local to my area.
