A most excellent topic. I, of course have my cats, Otis and Daisy. Remember, Daisy Day will be coming up in July, so start getting ready. On the wild side, I share this property of mine with: deer, squirrels, skunks, jackrabbits, bunnies, squirrels, foxes, the occasional bobcat, coyotes, owls, several species of hawk (including red tails and swainsons), falcons, burrowing owls, swallows, hummingbirds, quail, other birds, lizards (several species), coachwhip snakes, bull snakes, rattlesnakes (haven't seen one yet, but they must be here), vinegaroons, scorpions, tarantulas, and some other spiders. The quail are my favorites. They hang out in the bushes all around here, conversing with each other. In the morning, a bunch of them come out of the brush and parade around the house. The daily "March of the Quails" down the length of my deck amuses my cats no end. Sometimes one will saunter right up to the window and do a beak-to-nose staredown with Daisy. I dunno, they might be friends. Bob
